The Main Character: Vacu

Spent part of today modeling, rigging and animating "Vacu", an anthropomorphic vacuum cleaner and the main character in our Jam game. I'm an engineer so it's always a fun break to try my hand at art (and an important reminder not to quit my day job).

Here he is sucking up those yellow balls:

Also, last night I played Dan's first level prototype. He's never done any level design before, but managed to make a really epic level. It took me a while to figure out the order in which to suck up all the yellow balls. Your character gets bigger with each thing you carry and that prevents you from getting into places. At the end I kinda cheated and gave myself infinite jumps :innocent: when I realized I was missing just one ball :rage:

Vacuum Platformer: WebGL Version

Just uploaded a WebGL version of the game so you can play it in the browser. Not sure why I didn't do this in the first place. Unity WebGL is getting better each time I use it. On version 2017.2 my build comes out to about 7.9MB worth of data (i think it's about 5.3MB for code and 2MB for assets) and runs almost exactly the same with literally no time spent optimizing or tweaking. The game takes some time to load and gives you only a blank screen when it's loading (which is probably my fault). Definitely will not work on mobile browsers (no control scheme for it). I know it's not the same as if I coded this in Javascript, but I'm happy with it.

Oh hope it's not cheating that I uploaded this after the jam ended. There's no difference than the other versions.
