Planet Bash, ready for judging!

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/planet-bash-1

Ready for the judgering! Kind of anxious aswell. I'm quite proud of how it ended up before I submitted it, but I am already working on a better and more enjoyable version for when the judging ends. All the entries have simply blown my mind, so much creativity around here!

Ready for the judgering!

This is my first entry for an LDJam and I must say that it is quite the experience. I had a lot of challenges trying to make things work since I'm pretty new to programming, my main skills are about the visual and audio aspects of gaming.

I've been rating all the entries I'm coming across and pretty much all of them rock. I'm impressed by the skills of the contestants.

I just made a quick update to the file so as to not have tu use the installer anymore, and reduced the file size to only 18MB (as opposed to the huge 200MB it was before). Now it's easier to just play the game without having to mess around with stuff to get it to run.

Nothing else was changed, but I am already working on more stuff for this game so after the Jam it will be more entertaining, keeping in mind all the suggestions made by fellow jammers.

Two more days of voting!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FS3rH7Lbhik

Let's take advantage of these extra days to vote on some more games, I will be checking out a few more entries that are low on votes to help them out, meanwhile you can check my entry Planet Bash as well:

On a different note, I have been working some more on the post-jam version of Planet Bash. I've added meteorites, harder rockets, enemies can crash into each other, slow-motion mode, party-time mode, if you die you get a chance to revive by getting the pieces back together and more. There are a lot of extra features that are still to be added, but I can feel the difference in versions now.

The results are in and wow! I never thought I could rank this high in my first game ever developed. I took this as an opportunity to learn some coding, which is something that always kept me from making my own games... I have worked doing art for games but I never had the confidence to take on one project on my own. Now I do!

All the feedback and entries were simply amazing, I can't believe the amount of talent and vision that is gathered here. You guys are all great, this is one experience that made me grow and I totally enjoyed being part of this.

I am still working on further improving the concept of Planet Bash, so keep around to watch it evolve into a finished product for I will be uploading the updates of the post-jam version. I put what I have so far in a public alpha so you can check what's new: https://killerkun.itch.io/planet-bash

LD 40

As a limited time offer, toss some babies for free!

Babies With Guns LD40.png

Babies with guns is my second entry for a Ludum Dare jam, the way my small game fits into the theme is that the more babies you carry, the harder it becomes to keep fragile things safe.

Please do check it out and leave feedback!
