Finished my first LD game. Never bothered posting before, because I didn’t think I could do it

It’s a simple little thing. I hope it provides 2 minutes of diversion. Can’t wait to see what everyone else has done.

Second Ludum Dare here. It was really awesome last time.

Going to warmup. I’ll try to remember how to draw something, play sounds, load resources, etc. If I feel daring, I’ll try to learn experiment with the Gamepad API for JavaScript. That would be pretty neat.

After a night’s work, I can draw a line on the screen… and make it move with key input… I’m so proud!

My primitive line drawings turned into a game. Nibbles/Tron light cycle game, with 10 seconds to live, and food, and poop.

That was exhausting. Time to crash.

But potato skins are actually out… side the potato… Whatever, it rhymes. I’m in for the compo.

This will be my 3rd Ludum Dare. I’m going to stick with using HTML5/Javascript. My tools:

Last night, I was really not digging the theme at all, and thinking of bowing out. But I just got a Eureka moment… at hour 15… Time to get started, I guess! Plenty of time!

Working on some sort of alphabet beat em up game. All based on a bad pun. Non-human character… alphanumeric character…  5 stars for humor please…?

Phew. It’s as good as it will be tonight. I had to skip prettier graphics. I wanted to add legs and arms to my characters. But at least I crammed in some gamepad support at the last minute.

Time to crash. And then play all the mini LD 49  games.

I think I will give it another go. This will be my fifth Ludum Dare. Do I get a free sub yet? … There’s no subs?… Just games?… Allright then…
