My first game Jam, tried coloured pencils

This is going to be the main menu background for the Cthonian Depths. My first time participating, I also tried to use pencils for coloring for the first time for ~at least 10 years.

Submitted my first jam game ever

Lots of small mistakes along the way, like thinking about developing a desktop game, but actually published it as HTML5 web in itch.io :face_palm: Also couldn't hit proper tutorial for Compo, so I tried to explain it in the description.

But, a game from scratch was pulbished in 48h! But this was more fun than I though :D

ps. it has been over a decade when I colored with pencils last time.

Practice for updating the jam game after the rating ends?

Hi

As a first-timer I have one dumb question: Is it okay after the Jam rating time to update your game, for example in itch.io? I ended up fixing some minor bugs, implementing new features and more scenarios for my game. Should I create a new game entirely, or upload atop the Jam game after the jam period ends? What’s the common practice here? Is there value/requirement in keeping games in their original “jam state” for posterity?

Also I plan to play many of the other games this Monday, especially those which have not yet hit the required 20 votes :) I have a preference for HTML5 games that don't need downloading. My jam game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/57/cthonic-depths already reached more than 20 votes, thank you all who have played it! I’ll be paying it forward tomorrow :)

Cthonic Depths: After jam polish

After the jam some little features were missing (tutorial tips, showing items on UI, proper fullscreen, some info, one level etc.) and some bugs present. Today I had the idea to polish it a little and release a new version.

Here is my jam game plus 3h of extra polish: https://lazyanttu.itch.io/cthonic-depths-full

Thanks to great advice here, I decided to keep my original jam game intact (it's also hosted on itch io).
