Well, I may be going somewhere

Yes, I've succeeded in creating the base mechanics of an RTS in the first day! I have done SO MUCH code, art and polish today that 'm kinda amazed by what I've done :v:
Hey folks, how are you doing?
First of all, I would like to wish you a happy new year! I am pretty sure that we are going to have a very productive year, and I hope to see you on the next Ludum Dare(s ?)
Also, as always, I would like to give some short thoughts about my placement, and look a bit more coldly into I have created this Ludum Dare. So, for those of you who haven't seen my game, it is Raining Blood

So, this time I decided to go for a super ambitious project, an attempt to create a minimalistic management game about religious devotion!
I was definitely not going to create another platform this time, so I took the risk of creating something that probably would not fit in 48 hours alone hehe!
After twelve times taking place in Ludum Dare, it would never occur to me that this time I would get nervous. Given my last classification, with the game Dunk Em Up, where I ended up at first place in Compo, I was extremely afraid of not getting a higher performance this time, as I always did in the previous events.

I was not feeling confident enough and did not manage to play and more than a game this time. I also haven't posted about my game in the past three weeks. Which of course, lead me to get just a few ratings in my game. (of course, the low number of ranting may have distorted the results.)

I ended up not classifying for an actual position this time, but I am thankful for the average score I've got! Those are even higher than the ones that classified me into first place!
I just feel sorry that I haven't played and rated enough games this time.
Besides all that, I also would like to share with you a timelapse video that I've made and unfortunately haven't shown yet:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUuZpjnpEsA
It shows the entire development process of Raining Blood.
I hope you guys enjoy it! And thank you for another amazing year of great Ludum Dare competitions.
Hey folks! I would like to share with you today Lamparina, the game I created for the Global Game Jam 2019 ;)

Everything within the range of light, gains life. Everything else, turns to stone.

Lamparina is a top-down puzzle game, where you open magic doors by adjusting the projection of light and solving enigmatic challenges!

And you can play it right here! :D https://lukbebalduke.itch.io/lamparina
Hey folks! It's been a while since last time, and I hope you're doing well! After so many Ludum Dares it still a huge pleasure to be able to participate again, vote the themes and see people getting ready and sharpening their tools :)

I wish you all good luck and have fun!
Unlike many of you, I have to admit that I kinda like the theme, and it actually helped me a lot: I discovered a meaning for the game I had in mind, now I have pretty much a solid plan for the jam.

I've tried to sketch some stuff in this starting minutes and I would like to share with you folks ;)

I'm satisfied with what I've got so far, but still, extremely late on schedule and for the very first time, I might not finish my game.
Anyways, I still hope to share some new stuff with you later :D

I've just wake up and I would like to share with you some of the progress I made on the first day. I still a bit late, but it is starting to look like something!
Hey you all ;)
I’m thankful for presenting you Heartaker - a hack n slash about slicing enemies in a half with a katana!

I've finished the game on the last minute of yestarday, and because of that I was too tired to post anything at all about the game, but here it is! It is done now!
I am satisfied with my game this time, and I hope you enjoy it as well!
I hope you are all doing great!
I have pretty exciting news; but first of all, let me thanks every single one who gave me feedback about the game!
I received a lot of critics on dialogue speed, not being able to restart the game and resurrection price in the game. Lucky, every single change is this patch is basically a few digits changed in values of the game, like speed and price.

Either way, here's the quick patch note:
You can play Heartaker and give me more suggestions right here!~
Thank ya!
For me, it is almost mandatory to participate in Ludum Dare, every single time I stop to acknowledge how much I've improved over 6 years of Ludum Dare, I also remember why this event is so important for me, and also for each member of this community how evolved alongside with me :D

For sure we are going to have a good time next weekend, I'm eager to see what you guys are going to put together!
When I first took place in the event, back when I was 13 and barely could read English, I have to admit that I was a little bit afraid of doing this, but oh boy, how I'm glad for that first try. - I made a terrible game, accidentally broke some rules, and got extremely ashamed about that, but at the end of the day, it was for sure a worth experience.
I'm grateful for our community and how much you helped me improve as a developer. Here's a quick chart showing my ratings, I feel like it is always great to keep track of progress :)

I wish you luck folks, have fun!
Hey there, fellow Ludum Dare enthusiasts! I'm excited to dive into a topic that has been on my mind lately: music creation and automatic generation for the Ludum Dare Compo.
Having participated in numerous Ludum Dare events, I've realized it's high time I reevaluate my approach to crafting game music. While I can handle programming, art, animation, writing, sound effects, and more, music has always been my Achilles' heel. It feels like my ability to create original music is hovering around zero, and the thought of composing solo makes me uncomfortable.
So, here's where I need your help and insights. I see a few potential ways to bridge this gap in my skillset:
1. Sample Loops: One option is to work with pre-made sample loops. These can provide a quick and easy solution, but I wonder if it's a tad too easy. Is it fair to use these loops in the Compo? https://www.looperman.com/loops
2. Music Generators (e.g., Wolfram Tones): Another route is using music generators like Wolfram Tones. This used to be my default solution in previous events. This, however, was before the boom of AI generated content, and I wonder if using it still has benefits. If you're also going to use a tool similar to Wolfram Tones, please let me know what you are going to use! https://tones.wolfram.com/generate
3. AI-Generated Music: Lastly, there's the world of AI-generated music. To be honest, I know very little about this option. Does it feel fair and respectful to everybody who will be participating in Ludum Dare? And if it does, what are some tools/services that you would recommend me checking out?
I find myself at a crossroads, unsure of which path to take. Each approach has its own set of pros and cons, and I'm curious to hear your perspectives. Have you faced this dilemma before? If you plan to create music for Ludum Dare Compo, what approach are you leaning towards?
