Our first time!

Welp, we have no idea what we're doing. So this will be fun!

Thinking 'bout stuffs

So, running out of... "Space", huh? Well, the universe can only get so big...

Big thanks to our beautiful illustrator katerina24111998 for the sprites.

Working hard

Yep, we have all the concepts thought out, basic mechanics implemented. Time for some real action!Безымянный.png

How is your development process going?'

(Yeah, about that name... I have a mind of a 9 yo).

Something like this, at least. I would like to hear your thoughts! (The background is temporary.) NmCmuCcGC70.jpg The three slots in the bottom right is the cargo space you have. You can only gather so much cargo before you have to send it back, which makes gathering points rather difficult.

plz send help

So, the third day of the jam has started. I put up motivational Chie in event editor to prevent myself from jumping out of the window.EE_Background.png

Also, progress report!

We did it!

Welp guys, It's finally over. My first game. Our first game. My first Ludum Dare. Our first Ludum Dare. The three longest days in my life are finally over. In the last 72 hours, I've barely slept 7. And you know what? It was fun. I'm gonna say it right now. I've got almost no experience in game development, but as of today, I've finally undertood that this is something I want to do. For the last three days, I've made posts almost entirely from the point of view of our development team. However, right now, I want to be a bit selfish. I just feel obligated to tell everyone here what an amazing thing this whole ordeal was. I am only 16 years old and this is the first time in a long while that I finally feel like I've accomplished something.

We made everything from scratch. The graphics, the music, even the sounds (For example, the sound of upgrading is my friends bag being shaken, and the sound of getting hit is me hitting the spacebar key. Even the robotic "beep" that is played when you hover your mouse over an object was made by us using household items.)

Now, granted, our game is nothing special. It's a game about a spaceship pilot retrieving loot from a blackhole with limited cargo space, while at the same time trying to dodge the oncoming barrage of projectiles from an evergrowing army of security drones. You go out there, you collect cargo, you evade the bullets, you load it off at the base, you collect some more cargo, you return, get some upgrades and go out again.Screem3.png

Nevertheless, for every single one of us this was more of a way to prove that we can achieve something. Put our minds together and create something that can be enjoyable, even if for a small amount of time.

You can learn more about the game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/wow-thats-a-big-hole-1

Or you can go straight ahead and download it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/whxxjkx2uzetp2k/WowThat%27sABigHoleInstallFinal.exe?dl=0

Well, that's all I have to say about Ludum Dare 42, our first Ludum Dare. But we will return for the next one. And we will make something bigger and better.

Thank you so much to everyone and goodbye, for now.

(By the way, there is an easter egg in the background. If you look closely, you will see it.)

Welp, my game is out there.

It's a shame that I couldn't really play and rate others as much as I wanted to, because I had to deal with a lot of things personally, as well as lost a close friend. So, as a result you probably won't see it the final results. But that's okay! The most important thing for me was experience, and it was a blast!

The game is here if you want to play it.

The main premise is to collect cargo. You only have three slots, so you will need return unload it at the base very often. Also, every couple of seconds an enemy spawns, so you have to be careful. However, the more enemies on the screen, the more money you make. Have fun!18a07.png
