A friend incited me to participate in the Jam.

I wasn't sure as that weekend I had to go out to some work meetings but I'm SO GLAD that videogame adiction was stronger and sacrificed my sleep to make it possible. I've been making some games in the past years. Dedicating all my spare in some unfinished proyects. With this challenge the game was afoot, a perfect time to prove ourselves.

These days have been flooded with atonishment and surprises testing other people's games. Comparing how different our concepts of fun can be and how much more is to explore in the videogame industry. The feedback I'm recieving makes me grow everyday and gives me this warm sensation that we're not alone in this utopian niche. That gives me the pride and confidence to shout to the four winds: "COME AND TRY TACTICAL HYDRA!"

Something that started with so personal feelings about the gaming industry turned in something I'm always looking for when I'm browsing the internet and the playstore. Something that deep down we know more or less how it should be.

This post is a depiction of my gratitude to all of you... Thank you so much =O)

It's the final sprint and the emotional rollercoaster of my first jam spins uncontrollably! After 140 ratings and feedback comments vs 69 rates recieved it's time to call for some ratings.

After talking about the theme with some friends, compiling ideas to go further the first impressions and pre concieved ideas, Just got an idea I really like.

VampySitter! You have to take care of a suicidal vampire.

Remembered an animation i did for a pixeljam a year ago and I'll base the character and the game on that style. Many references! Duckula, Eeek, Rocko for snes, lemmings and some point and click stuff.

LETS GO!

Now working in the suicidal AI. The Garlic and the Cross are meant to be ways to scare the vampire from the upcoming dangers.

2 days to go! So much to do! Fighting with the urge to add features but keeping strong... I think. Soooo Hyped

Only 8 days to go!

All base (of the game) are belong to me! The central mechanics are functional. Had to make 2 version so it could be playable (badly but playable) on mobile phones for all the lazy ones.

This time thought ahead with the level progression so tomorrow's work SHOULD be almost just pixeling. So exited about this jam's theme. Don't remember the last one but it didn't tickled my schmipeling.

This time the form of the game jumped almost instantly so that saved me lot's of time I usually use to get a general idea of the game.

I see a lot of original intakes to the theme and that's very inspiring.

Last Jam I participated, noticed how important is that everybody could play the game. Making it HTML5 with mobile compatibility was a good choice from the beggining.

Didn't had the time to post something when published but my mind and body were tired as hell after those 48 frenetic hours.

Some kind fellow devs tried and commented my game without any advertising (Gona check, rate and comment all your games later). The reactions sure lifted my spirits. Even my friends and family are sending screenshots of their highscores!

If you wanna try (I'll check all the games from those who comment!) some hell diving I made a few fixes from the original entry. Nothing big, just lowering a bit the final stage diff and making it the same version if you're using a computer or a phone.

I haven't had the time to put together a decent Hell Diver post since the jam ended. Just keeping this GIF under 4 MB was a headache!
