As my first entry ever for Ludum Dare, I’m finding it really challenging to complete a game in the 48 hours. The key is having the elements clear in my head, no changing directions through development, and sticking to simple rules.

With the Alone theme I thought they’ll be loads of depressing games around, so I went for something colourful.

You are  a bee, but you’ve lost your hive. You are a “Bee Alone”. There you go. Find your way back avoiding other insects, and feed in the flowers for energy.

Great experience this my first Ludum Dare.

If you asked me a week ago if I could do a complete game in a weekend I would have said No Way. I’m used to months of developement, with plenty of time in between where inspiration or motivation drifts.

With the focus of the deadline of LD, things were different., I’ve been able to do my normal life (family and what have you), but all my spare time have been focused in the game. And I can say now that, except for a few minor details, it’s done! Will be posting after tea.

And there it is, a game made in 48 hours, wow, and I’m quite happy with it. Done worse things in much more time!

It’s interesting how the idea of making a “Not Game” for this Ludum Dare, made me think in something practical that I will be able to use for future games.

I was trying to understand how different parameters would affect the physics of a ball in a game. I.E>: What are good values for elasticity? What is torque and how it affects an objects? How would a massive gravity would make a difference against a small one?

This program lets you experiment all this physics rules and learn from it. I hope someone finds it as useful as I did!
