First time excitement

Hey everyone! This is probably just post-submission emotion and sleep deprivation, but I want to say that I'm so proud of everyone who participated. Even if you didn't finish, or you don't think your work is as good as you wanted - what matters is that you tried where lots of other people didn't.

I've been dreaming about game design my whole life, and even graduated with a minor in game design a DECADE ago but had to put off my game design dreams for personal reasons.

I just started tinkering with games again last year but it all felt so overwhelming. I appreciate the Compo because I don't know if I'd enter a jam if I knew I were competing against teams of people with pre-built assets. LD certainly helps level the playing field for us noobs.

I'm looking forward to playing all your games and being a part of this awesome community for hopefully years to come!

Cheers, Matt

The halfway mark!

Looks like we just passed 50% of games having >20 ratings, conveniently at about the halfway point in the rating period.

I was curious what percentage of games actually hit their rating threshhold historically and it seems like, in the past few jams at least, the number is very consistently ~68-70%. (LD45 only had 60!).

There's a slight correlation between the number of entrants and the percent of games that meet the threshhold; that makes sense. Given that this LD is a bit smaller than some of the recent jams, I'd be curious to see if we even hit the 68 mark.
