Only Mildly Crazy

First jam and I’m 99.99% positive it’s going to be recklessly wild.

My motto is strictly K.I.S.S. I’m using this as an opportunity to do a few things. Practice rapid design/prototyping, learn more about Unity3D, get back to some game development after a long absence and meet some friendly souls out there.

Let’s do this.

Weapons: Unity + Photoshop

Le’ Sleep

Well, time to end the day.

The idea I’m working with for this jam is ‘You only get one minute‘ to load up as many christmas trees as you possibly can by flying a helicopter out in the fields, pick up a tree and return back to a truck to drop it off. If you’d like to see my inspiration (and possibly some strategy ;)), check out this wild video — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08K_aEajzNA

Overall, decent progress.  I had my share of curve balls thrown my way with Unity, but I’m happy. You can fly around, grab a tree, attempt to drop it off and dodge a few obstacles while you’re trying to do it.

Tomorrow I need to figure out how to add some rope physics, polish up some of these obstacles and put art/sound/ui/menus in place.

Stay motivated.

First Jam In. The. Books.

Big shout out to each and every one of you who made it through this weekend building on a brand new game! Whether you met your expectations or not, #epic-hi5!

That was fun. Holiday Chopper Frenzy came together decently well when you consider I hadn’t used Unity in over a year. I had a blast experimenting with the new 2D system they introduced recently. Overall, things came together well! No complaints here.

The biggest missing piece that I wanted to get in was sound. Only one piece was made, and at a frantic pace… whoops

Anyway, I’m out! Go play Holiday Chopper Frenzy.
