I'm hooked!

This was the first game jam for my team mates and I. Before this jam I'd never really tried making a game... I'm an embedded guy so games are a little higher level then I'm used to. My friends and I are software engineers and we work in robotics (well I used to until recently) but we enjoy playing games so we decided to try our hands at making one. Not only did we make a game this weekend but we all had fun doing it! :-) I'm very much so looking forward to the next jam and am thinking about working on personal project between then and now!

If you have some time please try out the game we made and provide some feedback. Its called Slithering Secrets and its playable on the web here:

Questions for the experienced Lundum Dare people

How is it so many games have so many ratings? How do people find games to rate? I've just been looking @ the front page or at the games that people who are leaving comments made. Is there another more "lucrative" way to get my game out there so I can at least get the 20 necessary ratings? Also, I'm seeing some people say "rate my game and I'll rate yours"... how do you see who has rated your game?

Well if your reading this and would like to try out my game you can play it here: https://asimovindustries.itch.io/slithering-secrets Feedback is much appreciated :-)

Here is a screenshot from the game... I'm working on recording some game play and posting it on youtube. slitheringemsecrets/emss.png

Sooo close to 20

Since we're so close to hitting the all important 20 ratings... I made a game play video to help drum up some interest. There are mild spoilers so don't watch it unless you want to learn the location of a few of the pickups.

If you find the video interesting and want to give our game a try then you can play it (on the web) by going to this link: https://asimovindustries.itch.io/slithering-secrets and please rate it afterwards. Leave a comment and I'll make sure to rate your game too! So without further ado here is the video:

Thank you for all the fun and feedback so far...

One last shameless plug before I head to bed... I've had a lot of fun today. I've played sooo many good games that make me wonder where we'll all end up in the rankings.

Tomorrow I plan on using some of the exploits I know from my game to make a speed run.... See just how quickly I can finish it. I'll record it for all to wonder at and try to duplicate. Let me know your quickest times so I'll have something to compare against tmw. Let me know if you figure out any of the "exploits" that'll make you run super fast... there is more than 1 way.

But I'm exhausted right now so I'm off to sleep. If you rate my game and leave a comment... I'll be sure to play your game and leave you a rating in the morning when I wake up.

You can play my game in your browser by going here: https://asimovindustries.itch.io/slithering-secrets

Here is a game play video so you can "try before you buy" :-D

Slithering Secrets Speedrun

My fellow game makers and I have figured out a couple of "exploits" that can be used to speed up your character in game. Finding these "exploits" didn't required knowledge of how the game was developed we just played the game and discovered them that way. I'll give you a hint since your reading this... one involves fully utilizing the controls and the other involves the columns. They both WORK equally as well in both the web version and windows exe versions but only the windows exe LOOKS correct. This is due to a movement bug we ended up only rigging right before the deadline.

Anyway without further ado... as promised here is my speed run of Slither Secrets! I managed to complete the game in 1 minute and 29 seconds..... Do you think you can do it faster?
