Bug

For some reason, Itch.io was displaying one of the first old builds on top of the most recent one. It was a version I made with solo purpose of unit tests (and upload tests) during early stages of LDJAM.

For that reason, some people played my super outdated unfinished game, with LOTS of bugs.

Thus, I am just posting to inform people who tried the old one that I deleted this version and only the new and correct one is available now.

I really enjoyed this game!

It is called:

D4RK and the Small Worlds

The game is not mine, I am just reviewing it by my own will, its legit, haha.

Details

The game is a platformer totally focused on mechanics and it requires you to be precise and master those mechanics, and it is a COMPO game! I totally recommend it.
Some features: + Meelee Attacks + Wall Jumps + Fast-paced + Dark Souls-ish Dash Mechanics

Speedrunner friends playing my game

I would never think my speedrunner friends would find this path in a game I barely made (version 1.0.1):
SPEEDRUN_OLD.gif

Though I had to change that in order to teach people how to kill stars. Because a lot of players were still confused.

But I loved their strategy, so I decided to keep it in a new way

Not so awesome, but I'll figure out how to solve that.
The old one was way more punishing, which fits perfectly speed runners: SPEEDRUN/emFAIL.gif

But I am planning some other future updates before solving that

  • Complete art rework
  • Particles
  • Maybe split stage into several screens, instead of one big map

What do you think about these changes (specially about the screen split stuff)?

Also NO ONE has found yet the two secret passages in my game, haha

There is a special noise in game when you find a secret. There are two hidden passages and one explicit "secret" (this last one should give the clue that secrets do even exist).
One secret passage is somewhere before the explicit thingy, and the other comes somewhere after that.
