Day 1 progress
I'm using this Game Jam to learn about the Godot Engine, which I'm new at, and using lights and shadows. I think the results so far are nice! Now I have to implement the thing to keep alive :stuckouttonguewinkingeye:

The core mechanics are finished! I mostly worked on the health bars and collisions today, but now everything works (I hope). Just some more tweaks, sprites and extras and I can call this project a finished game!

It's done! And I'm really proud of it!

Explore the dark world as a little robot carrying a plant. Find the secrets by turning on your light.
(You can see what I mean with 'dark world' (or not heh...) )
Your goal is to keep the plant (and yourself) alive. The plant needs to be illuminated to survive, but be careful, light costs energy, and your energy is limited...

Luckily, there are some street lamps as checkpoint to regain your energy.

But take care of your surroundings! This place has some dangerous areas, which can only be seen with light...

Can you make it to the end?

I will never make a story driven game in a game jam again...
Anyways. Here is my final project

Have fun!
I'm super happy with the results, especially with the categories Theme and Mood, where I've focused most of in my game. Humor being in a good place is a bonus for me, because I only inserted one joke in my otherwise dark game :P

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

Making good progress of the prototype so far :)
(The imp shouldn't go through the elevator of course, this will be implemented next :P )

The characters represent my first reaction of the theme reveal, honestly.
But whatever, let's see what we can do with that! :)

This is the first time that I don't have to panic about finishing a game in time, so I'm really proud of myself for that :)
The plan for day 2 is to replace these placeholder sprites with some decent sprites + animation, and add some music. If there is still time left, maybe I can even add some more features! :)
I mostly reworked my placeholder sprites today. Now they look pretty decent in my opinion :)

(I couldn't make the gif longer or bigger, otherwise the file would be too big to upload ¯_(ツ)_/¯ )
Tomorrow I should finally make some music!
Does anybody know how hellish elevator music would sound like? :PAlso, if there is still time left, I will add some more enemies to keep the game interesting and challenging :)

Safely transport your client through the underworld and crank the elevator downwards as deep as you can!

But be careful, there are some inattentive imps out there!

And if you have a calm moment, maybe sing along to the elevator music!
