Ok, let's do this.

You wake up in an unknown place, dressed only in rags. You have no money, tools or weapons on you, and you remember... nothing.
The objective of the game, set in a fantasy world, is to uncover the truth behind why you lost your memory, and find your way back into your previous life. The main game mechanics will be about decision making, balancing time vs risk. You will also need to manage food, sleep and warmth as resources to stay alive. Ideally the game will have different endings depending on your decisions.
Let's do this!
This will eventually turn into a game, I promise  For now these debug graphics are more than enough to get going.

As it's almost 03 in Sweden, I'm heading off to sleep soon, but pretty happy with progress so far!
Lots of development (and more importantly gameplay and story) to do still, but progress feels OK so far

Apart from spending most of the day on story, the first two minutes of the game are now playable!

Building a text based adventure game comes with its own challenges. It's easy to get started, but the limitations of the medium requires quite a lot of planning when it comes to allowing the player to make decisions. Also, I'm only now fully realizing how much text will need to be written to tell a complete story. A fun challenge!
Hey all! This my first time joining a Ludum Dare compo. I had to cut scope significantly to make the deadline, but I'm really happy that I made it.
Here's a gif capturing the first minute of the game!

My plan was to add more content, both lore / world building but also more puzzles. With two hours to go I realized I needed to not only compress the plot but also change the game's outcome, simply because I would not have time to implement my original idea. Regardless, I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out.
Being part of a compo, seeing all the initial reactions to the theme, early mockups and finalized games from everyone else competing was a rush! I would also really appreciate feedback on how I can improve further!
In anticipation of LD46 I tried (re-)learning some pixel art. In LD45, I had to resort to text only, so I thought I'd try to step it up a notch this time around. After binge watching MortMort's awesome pixel art tutorials and buying Aseprite I drew this little house. The perspective is all over the place, but hopefully it will be functional enough. :)

It'll be 3AM in Sweden when the theme is published so I'm planning to sleep through the announcement (wish me luck) and get up at 5AM and get cracking. Best of luck everyone!
I'm making a game about desperately trying to keep a small coffeehouse alive against the ruthless competition! :coffee:

Being in EU, I decided to wake up at 7 instead of staying awake all night. Originally, I was planning to wake up at 5:30, but that turned out to be impossible.
The good news is that after one hour I have three ideas that I pretty much like the same. The bad news is that I can't decide!
Good luck everyone!
I'm trying to follow a linear process this time, instead of switching between coding, artwork, story, mechanics. So far it means that I've fleshed out the main story and the key beats of the story, 4 pages of text, some rough paper sketches, and a flow chart detailing how some of the mechanics will work. I just hope I will have time to implement it all :)
How's it going for you?

For this compo, I created a a classic point & click adventure game where the player explores the depths of the Bothnia Trench

- Hey mate, can you find me my special wrench? I need to tighten a few bolts on
the pressure hull before we can descend deeper. Thanks!
