I’ve never been part of Ludum Dare before, but I thought it’d be fun to try this time.

In my game, you’re playing as a green cube. For some reason, your only hope is to get to the top, in a platformer-esque style.

I’m writing in Javascript, with Canvas to render stuff. Because of this, you can play it right in the browser, with no need to download anything, not even browser plugins 😀 If you wanna have a look for yourself at the latest working version of the game, feel free to go to mortie.tk/webapps/LDgame. Keep in mind though that this is currently a very early version, I haven’t even started making maps yet.

Currently, the game is named Greenfolks. I don’t know if this name will stick – I guess we’ll have to wait and see :p

Controls:
A and D to move left and right, space to jump.
Exit the screen on the right side, enter on the left side – and vice versa.
You cannot control while in the air.

To do:
Death when falling down.
Moving platforms, deadly platforms, etc.
Level editor, mostly for my own use.
Making levels.

What would you do if you could rewind the last 10 seconds of your life?

I’m sure you have asked yourself that question at some point in time. Or maybe not.

Anyways, that’s what my game is all about; rewinding the time, up to 10 seconds.

So far, only a bit of the engine is done. It’s still fairly buggy, but seems to work nicely for the most part. Quite happy with the rewind feature.

Will focus on making content tomorrow 😉

Have you ever sat down in the dark, all by yourself, asking what would happen if you suddenly were to be transformed into a green ball?

What about those late nights you’ve been awake, not being able to sleep because you’ve wondered how it’d be to be trapped in a seemingly endless, uniform cave, full of pits of some kind of bright red goo, possibly lava?
