LD19

First Time

Hi all,
This will be my first time entering the competition, my friend Entar has been suggesting I try it for awhile now. I’m very much looking forward to it. My current plan is use C# with SFML. I’m considering using Colors! (NDS homebrew painter) to draw graphics; my pixel art and 3d modeling skills are nonexistent. I’m not at all sure how well this will go since I haven’t worked on a game for quite some time. Over the past day or so I’ve started to implement some base code targeted at tile based games and plan to use that. I’d really like to write an RPG but with the time constraints, I don’t think that’s a realistic goal.

LD22

Second Attempt

Hi All,

I’ve decided to give Ludum Dare another go. Usually these competitions end up right before finals for me so its nice that LD22 is on a weekend I have time. The first time I participated, LD19, I ran out time because I spent too much time writing engine code rather than an actual game. Hopefully this time will go better. I’ll be going with C# and SFML again. If I decide to try an RPG again I will probably use an updated version of the base code I used in LD19. The base code mainly supports tile maps, actors, and a GUI system.

LD25

Another Attempt

Hi All,

I’m thinking about having another go at LD. The first time I participated, LD19, I ran out time because I spent too much time writing engine code. I was going to do LD22 but just didn’t end up with time that weekend. Maybe this LD will go better. I’ll probably be going with C# and SFML again, although I would like to use LISP. :) If I decide to try an RPG again, I will probably use an updated version of the base code I used in LD19. The base code mainly supports tile maps, actors, pathfinding, click based movement and a GUI system.
