Didn't participate this time.
I had participated in too many jams, so I decided to take a break. I'll be back for ld 49! Super happy for everyone who completed!

Yep, I'm hosting a game jam! It is called the hyper-causal jam, in which you have 72 hours to make a hyper-casual game. Everything is explained in the jam page!

Whenever I edit something in a post, it says it's updated but when I check it out, it's not. Also an option to delete your posts would be nice.
Make a hypercasual game in 72 hours that fits a theme and restriction! https://itch.io/jam/hyper-casual-jam2
Like last time, I'll be using a fairly new game engine to me! Gamemaker Studio 2! I'll be also doing the compo along my exams, not really sure how I'll pull this one off. Anyway! SO EXCITED! My tools:
1) GMS2 as the game engine 3) Beepbox as the music maker 4) BFXR as the sound effects 5) Pixelorama for the art
That's all! I'm nervous about this! But I hope I pull this off because this will make such a banger YouTube video lol
So, this time I'll be doing the compo, and I have a question. Do we need to upload our source files to github, or can we include it directly in the game page? (I'm sure this has been asked already but I couldn't find an answer).
This is the jam that boosted my gamedev passion, I used a new engine to me, Construct 3. I would say I'm pretty good at it now, so the obvious choice was to try another engine, and get good at that by making commercial games, mobile games and of course, game jam games!
The tools I'll be using!
𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲: 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿: 𝗩𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 (𝗩𝗦 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘅) 𝗔𝗿𝘁: 𝗣𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰: 𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗕𝗼𝘅
𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀: 𝗚𝗶𝘁𝗵𝘂𝗯 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗕𝗦 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻.
That's it! I'm really excited for this one!
Holy crap is it hard to do any gamedev practice when you have literal exams happening, at least I'll have holidays when the jam starts and ends, so really happy that lined up!
So, the jam started at 3 am for me, I stayed up until 2 AM but slept :( At 5 AM, I woke up and got to know the theme, finally something I liked lol. Because I'm using Unity, I'll have a simple game. A player that revolves around a point, and has "un-stable" enemies on its sides, they can shoot random amount of lasers and any random time. And you'll need to either kill them by shooting or making them shoot each other, I hope I complete a big chunk today! If not, it'll have to be jam.
OHHH man am I happy, during my exams, learning a new engine and ALL THAT during 48 HOURS! I'm so happy! Please play my game, I know it's not the best, but still. HTML and cover art coming tomorrow. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/49/$260281

Now that I added some images, I'm hoping to get more clicks, maybe I'll add an html version. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/49/unstable-avoidance
Last time I created an absolute piece of garbage. This time I'll actually make something good! I'll be doing the compo :D
Engine: Construct 3 Art: Aseprite Music: Bandlanb SFX: Chiptone
That's all! I hope everyone has a great time!
Hey! If you're doing the compo, you'll have to make some music. I've seen some LD devlogs and a big problem that pops is that you don't know how to make music. You could choose the path of using the ugly Bosca Ceoil, or using BeepBox (which is much better for sure), but these options are limited. I've found a MUCH better option that enables you to make some banger music. You can use Bandlab! It has amazing packs of loops that can be used and you can also use separate loops. It's also free and can be downloaded on mobile ^^

Here are some examples of music I've made with Bandlab completely with loops.

I hope you all have an amazing jamming session. Good luck!
So, I'm basically done (doing the compo btw), here is some moosic I made: https://www.bandlab.com/revisions/2526bc60-9db2-ec11-997e-0050f280f352?sharedKey=piqv5HY4gUil-PA4x9Nxig
Pretty happy with it! I'll add some transitions and set up the itch page :) Happy jamming!
Yes! I've finally done it! I made a LD game in 48 hours that's not half bad. Please check it out!

I’ll rate yours too!
I haven’t promoted much, due to me being busy. But I’d really appreciate it if I atleast get a rating! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/terra-defensio
Would be great to get some feedback on my game! This was my firdt compo where I made something decent. It would be great to improve my skills for next time! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/terra-defensio
