Ludum Dare 46

Greetings from Baja! :D

Hello! I’m a school teacher and I love to practice game designing skills as a hobby on my free time. I truly believe that videogames as a media can be a solid option to use as a learning tool thanks to possibility of bring interactivity to their users.

My goals as a participant of Ludum Dare is to challenge myself, learn new things, make new friends and to try to conquer my anxiety while working under pressure.

This is my first official try at Ludum Dare and I'm really nervous. Don't know wich engine or framework should I use nor many, many things about the ruleset of LD. I'll try to do my best and at least be able to finish a simple game and have fun.

My best of wishes to all of you and thank you very much for promoting events like Ludum Dare! :v:

Already spend the first two hours doodling concepts and doing research. The theme "Keep It Alive" could be implemented on several ways. From something like "The Road" (2009) to "John Carpenter's Escape from New York" (1981) or even "Shoot 'Em Up" (2007).

Once I finish to settle the theme (and storyline) I'll start to work on a part of the assets. That's going to be my goal for today.

Anyone is using or recommend any good planning tool to keep track of advance? I wasted a lot of time doing research and preliminary concepts... :sob: :sob: :sob:

Ludum dare 46 - A reminder to my future self.

I am going to publish this so that I can see it in future editions of the Ludum Dare and help me remember and learn about what NOT to do -and what I DO have to do, in order to finish my project in a timely manner (or at least finish it at all).

This has been an incredible experience, even though it has been a miserable failure in practically every way for me, I think that in the end I have learned a lot and have discovered many areas that I need to polish and improve. :sob:

My most sincere congratulations to all the colleagues who finished their COMPO and JAM projects in this edition of the Ludum Dare. :videogame: :gamedie:

You are true heroes and a source of inspiration for all of us. You probably don't know how important is to some of Us to be inspired by your bravery and creativity. Thank you so much for all your effort! :v:

Infinite hugs and congratulations to all COMPETITORS & JAMMERS!
