Ropes ‘n Rockets

Made for Ludum Dare 34: Theme – “Two Buttons”
Ropes In Rockets! is a two button arcade game where you have to combo-attach to multiple rockets in a small amount of time without getting hit or failing to throw your rope to another rocket

this was the most tiring game to fix bugs for

the first problem was fixing the cloud generation, so that it wouldn’t suck the performance out of the game, second was getting the rope physics right! this alone took several hours to find the solution for and by far has quickly become the most messiest code I’ve written and gotten away with! haha

looking at the game now there were many features I could have implemented had I properly planned out the game before restarting on the LD game from being a “Feed the alien, Physics-y space game” to a hard sky-faring wannabe astronaut using rope to achieve that the goal of going to space.

Ropes ‘n Rockets is by far my best looking jam game to date I had the pleasure of making.
