Is your world too small?

Do you want a bigger world? Then crash some asteroids into it!!

10 hours in and I have created something that's playable to some extend!

Added Atmosphere and Water

Which still look quite bad. Especially when you completely flood your planet, you have a spiky planet that is completely blue (the water is only a change to the texture)... Not sure how I would fix that. I've toyed with the idea of making the whole planet and asteroids 3D, but that seems like too much effort

I'm still not sure about the rainbowy path prediction, I don't think it's really stylish, but helpful for knowing if you are actually going to hit your target

Asteroids now carry ice and air

log1.PNG I'm still not sure how to make the whole thing look good within the compo time

On the more or less bright side, the game is fun enough for me to waste valuable time playing it

It's finally looking good

After making the intro and tutorial, I got around to improving the looks of the game. I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

I also made a sound effect, which is a first for any of my games. In unrelated news, I added a mute option.

I'm still not sure how to call this game, but I've got some time to think about it over dinner.

I'm Done!

I'm quite happy with how it turned out, I just hope I didn't miss a big bug or something...

Making Progress

Four hours in and I settled on an idea, and implemented some basic flocking behavior: ld40_00.gif I'm planning on a game, where you play as a shepherd dog, trying to get your sheep somewhere. The more sheep, the harder it will be to control them all.

Setting Boundaries

I've created fences, and the best thing is, the sheep don't just glitch through them ~~at all~~ most of the time... ld40_01.gif

Counting Sheep

Now the game actually counts how many sheep you put in the pen. I also improved the flocking behavior bigly! ld40_02b.gif I'm really happy to have gotten the core gameplay done on the first day, so I can use most of tomorrow to polish the game

Added wolves

I've created some 3d models and added wolves to the game(the bright dog that currently paints the sheep red) ld40_03.gif There is also a transition from day to nighttime that is not in the gif, because the continuous color changes increase the filesize drastically.

Getting closer

When sheep get to the edge, they will now get lost in the forest. The game is now pretty much done, only needs some more levels/ minor tweaks but I probably won't have to panic in the last hours! ld40_04.gif
