Ludum Dare 49

Please downvote on/off.

Look guys, I know we have a tri-yearly tradition of picking the worst theme possible, but if we could very kindly not do that this year, I would be greatly appreciative.

Chicago Meetup

Hi guys! Is anyone here from Chicago and interested in or aware of a Chicago Ludum Dare meetup this year?

are you people having a laugh?

you understand that you're supposed to pick good themes, right? what is all this nonsense? like, cartography? do you really want to have to play 500 games about cartography after the jam? themes.png

Man, I... undershot my scope?

As a junior games developer who's always had issues with scope control, I really did not expect to have finished the majority of my game in <30 hours.

Not sure what to make of that. I guess I'm becoming competent now.

The Deliverator

Hi! I made a game based on the novel Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. It's a proof of concept surrounding dual-wielding mechanics in top-down video games. I hope you enjoy it.

Ludum Dare 54

None of the themes I voted for made it to the final round.

At the risk of being potentially bad luck, I've changed my mind on a few things: narrative-heavy games deserve their time in the sun, and games writers deserve to have a jam where they feel like an essential part of the team. With that in mind, let's go folklore! <3

A Modest Proposal: Folklore

We've had fifty-four consecutive Ludum Dare jams where writing and narrative have been treated as an afterthought relative to the other parts that go into making a game. How about we throw our community's narrative designers a bone for once?

Unless you guys would rather play through several hundred games about absorbing things or locks and keys for some reason. folklore.png

Jam complete!

I've always wanted to try my hand at a fast-paced platformer game, and Ludum Dare was an excellent chance to get acquainted with the genre, despite the theme not being what I was hoping for. Thanks for the lovely jam, y'all! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/54/$371875

Is there a way to add spoiler text to my game's page?

Hello! I was wondering if there was a way to add "spoiler text" to my game's page. Would love to give off a few hints for those in desperate need, but wouldn't want players going in blind to have to see them.
