I’m in (We have to make a post like this right?)

So this will be my second 48 hour game jam, but this time I’m flying solo. I’ll start to stockpile the coffee and RedBull. Do you guys have any tips for a newbie who primarily has experience in programming and no skills in art or sound?

Same here it would be awesome if someone give a bit of wisdom.

Throw the… MOOON!!!

A little sneak peak at Lunar Combat. Combat is mostly done. I’m doing a bit of art before going to bed. I’ll implement the two player mode after I get up in 6 hours. This is the first time I’ve ever worked with pixel art.

Unsure about submitting for compo

Hey guys. So I should be done in a few hours, but I don’t know if I can submit for the comp in stead of the jam. I made everything myself except for the music and a font. Can I submit for the comp and just opt out of the audio voting category? Or should I rather just submit for the jam?

I think you’d still have to submit to the Jam. The compo requires you to make all of your own stuff, so using an external music asset would disqualify you from the compo.

Fonts are OK for the compo, but music is not.

I’ve never made music before, so I think I’ll probably just make an early jam submission then.

Can I enter compo and jam version entries for my game

Hey guys.

I made this post earlier: http://ludumdare.com/compo/2015/04/19/unsure-about-submitting-for-compo/

I decided to cut some game features and actually got time to learn a music making program. I ended up with this:

My question now is can I Submit a comp version with just the assets that I made and then submit a jam version with the better music? Or maybe just put an option in the game options menu to disable comp music? Otherwise I’m fine with using what I’ve got and submitting for the compo.

Thanks for the help guys.

I don’t know really. But what program did you used to make the music? It sounds great!

I’d love to know the answer to that myself.

I’m also in a position to sub a rough compo version soon and then work on a jam version with music a friend’s offered to make… Also I want to polish it up.

You should pick one event (Compo or Jam), unless you made a 2nd completely different game. The website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user, so if you had a 2nd game, you would need a 2nd account.

It is done! Come and throw those moons :) (Lunar Combat)

My compo entry is done! So time for some shameless self-promotion XD

This is the third game I’ve ever made in my life. First time I had to do art, sound, music and animation. Thanks Ludum Dare for pushing me out of my comfort zone :) I’m going to spend the rest of my time playing the other awesome games. Good luck guys. You’re almost there!

There was a slight download problem, but this should be fixed.
