Deeper & Deeper into Conversation
Day 1 was mainly about just finding the idea of what our game will be, we decided on the abstract idea of going deeper and deeper into conversation. To give an idea, there are colored regions you can interact with, and when you interact with color it changes your color. Colors represent moods, so for example, if red meant angry and you choose to go through red tint, you can't access green tint if green meant happy, you'd have to go through yellow if yellow meant neutral, and then you could have access to green. There are some conversational topics reachable inside the happy tint zone that carry anger, so to get anger to reach the red tint zone starting from the happy zone you'd have to chase down a topic that would be accessible in that mood, but caused by anger. There are also figures that will be chasing you, but they cant leave their tinted areas, topics will also run away from you when the person doesn't want to talk about them, and will in reverse chase you if the person does. The idea is, when switching moods as you get deeper into the conversations, the concepts would be represented as animals. We were also thinking of using a madlib text generator to keep the conversations going , like you touch a wolf and the text says "i don't know why she left" but randomized. We've been thinking this could represent an intense therapy session where you're trying to uncover something deep in someones mind.
