I'm stuck inside LD

Joining this LD with the intent to go back to my roots creating a game without any game engine associated.

I'll be using: - C# in net core with SFML.Net - Aseprite for the visual art - Bosca Ceoil for music - sfxia for sound effects

I hope you all get stuck 馃槣

What are your approaches to prototyping?

I always get stuck programming the prototype - too much going on my mind, and I end up losing motivation due to lack of a vision.

This time around I've been thinking in using Blender to create rough sketches of places, mechanics, etc. Since that should give me a fast space where I can test my vision without creating code.

As a bonus, when I get to the implementation phase I'll also have something to work towards and compare!

And that got me thinking, what are your favorite prototyping methods? 馃槈

I'm in! Interactive Fiction

My aim is to create some form of interactive fiction! Something simple and direct so I can fit within my schedule during the weekend.

I'm targeting the web so the usual suspects are selected: html, css, js!

I want to work great both on desktop and mobile, but I'm not expecting to create anything fancy.

Some ideas for unblocking

  • turn based game where you have to plan the next 10 seconds of your character(s)

  • repeat the last 10 seconds

  • play with relative physics to stretch or squeeze those 10 seconds

Feel free to use these or add your own in the comments!

Have fun!

Finally, I have the barebones setup!
