LD54 Day 1- Office Worker simulator
Day one is coming to an end (as I'm writing this, we're roughly 30 minutes before midnight), and I thought it'd be interesting to log our progress, along with the goals we've settled so far.
Making a game themed around "Limited space" is quite difficult. It requires a little bit of reflexion to come up with an idea that hasn't been implemented at least a dozen times before to avoid redudancy. In the end, we've settled for a "Papers please" type of game where you're playing as an office intern being forced to complete a bunch of tasks very quickly, on a very cramped desk. Get all the work done before you're inevitably fired.
All the paperwork is physics based, and you can drag-and-drop all the elements to try and organize yourself. You can click on the paperworks to complete it.

Making the assets is incredibly fun, some flaws becoming core gameplay elements like the desk size.

All in all, the prototype is practically finished and we already find it really fun, so that's promising! So far you can toy around with some papers spawning, shredding or submitting them as your score increases if you did a good job.
Tomorrow, we're gonna design more tasks (our plan is to make them increasingly stupid and absurd, like watering a plant or completing a captcha), tweaking the gameplay loop and making sure we actually have it in a "submittable" state tomorrow.
Well, that's it for now!
