LD 39

This time, count me in

It's been a long time, Ludum Dare, but LD #39 is one I decided not to miss.

Taking Game Maker Studio 2 for a spin.

I settled on an idea

I've been caught in a bad transport situation - my train is running 1 hour late and so I had no desk to start working at.

Trains have walls. I have post-its. It's not ideal, but it works for me.1501293038756-1233106345.jpg

Oh no!

My train came in late. But whatever, I'm well past that. But when I came to the place where I wanted to jam, I found out that the electricity and WiFi wasn't working. Some asshole cut the wires and stripped them for copper. Oh well. I did what I could on the remaining half of my battery and I managed to do the grid movement system for my game.

Now I'm at Starbucks, sipping away at coffee to calm myself down. Seriously, what else is going to go wrong today?!

Some other time

So long, Poskok. At least the Compo version of you. I tried to resuscitate you by making your mechanics simpler, leave less in the hands of level design. But that's what killed you.

My game needed levels. I'm way too tired to design them. I still didn't replace some of the placeholder graphics. Haven't even touched on the sounds. I'd love to blame it on my circumstances. Having to travel 3 hours twice during compo is no joke. Finding out that the place you wanted to make your office is currently shut down is dumb. But ultimately, these were all my choices and they turned out to be not the greatest.

The silver lining is that I had an amazing weekend in Prague, drank amazing beer for 2 evenings, and took my skills for a spin again!

The concept of Poskok is something I really like. Hopefully, I'll be able to come back to it and finish it later.
