Hi guys, first time here! I am really excited – and sleepy, the event starts 2 am here- and I am eager to create some good stuff!
My tools are Inkscape for 2d design, basic Gamemaker knowledge, a creative brain, some humor and 3 bananas for tonight!
Good luck to all

HELP!
I am good with graphics, but I never made music in my life.
Can anyone guide me towards a program, which is understandable for a total music noob like me?
thanks guys!

Finished!
Finally finished my game. It is a very simple platformer, you run around, try not to fall.
What I liked the most was to create the design as always, and this time also the music.
I got some help from the community, so found Boscaceoil for music, and it turned out fun!
I know I have a lot to develop, but it was a great experience! So try the game, and try to beat my score: 272!
What do you think? Play it here: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-27/?action=preview&uid=26221

Sleep now?
I am in, this will be my second time :) My tools are Inkscape and GMS2. I decided to sleep now, I will lose 5 hours but will be fresh and rested tomorrow!
Can I have a vertical screen - aiming for mobile?
So can I make my game vertical rather than horizontal? Or it has to be desktop compatible?
Wanted to be solo, but my composer friend is joining too! What do I do?
Do I have to do anything official to add him? Does he has to register too, or I am ok?
My hero is ready :D
I am a designer, so this was the easy part for me.
Now on to some more scripting!

Just lost all my vector artwork... Any accidents on your side?
Due to a random Windows update my PC collapsed, and the svg file got corrupted. Luckily I exported lot of them and most where just placeholder anyway. Still I have to redraw all :P How are you guys doing? Any accidents?
Another platformer-card game :D
This is my project called JumpCard! Put down the cards, and create the field for the little frog to jump and collect the coins! The demo is working, tomorrow my friend will make the sounds and music, and I will draw some more card variations. But now, sleep!
Assets drawn by me, game done in GMS2.
What do you think?

Not much time left! Here are the final visuals for our platform-card game!
Graphics are done, music is on the way, game mechanics are so-so. But we are tired, so here it goes :)
I am a designer, so I did the concpet, art, and coding. My friend David made the music and sounds.
What do you think?

Finally! JumpCard is ready!
After 40 hours of designing and coding and 15 hours of sound design, our game, JumpCard is ready!
Try it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/jumpcard
Please leave a comment, and I will try and rate your game too! Thanks!

I've got some valuable feedback!
And now I want to work more on my game :D Just to be clear: if I make some updates, I am not allowed to add them to my game here on Ludum Dare? I mean that would go against the rules won't it?
Made a short demo video for JumpCard
We submitted the full game in time, but I refined some small parts with the jumping after I got a lot of feedback about that. Here is a demo video about it. What do you think? :)

How I made VERY simple animations for Trashwars to survive the jam
When you start your jam game, you actually start with nothing. It took us a few hours to get a good idea, than decided on the game elements, @kazrath went to coding and I started to sketch the initial design.
We wanted to have little bots fighting each other, and I knew that I had two choices for character design and animation. A - to give the robots wheels so I can skip animation entirely or B - to make different type of walking robots
I choose option B because I am an idealist and I wanted to create the best! So instead of these little "cars", I ended up with these guys:

They are more fun, they have personalities, BUT they need actual animation work.
Using an animation tool like Spine or DragonBones can help you with complex stuff, animating between keyframes. It is almost always faster than animating every frame by hand. I could export my assets and use an animation tool to create bones and fluent animations. But I still had so much to and setting skeletons and animating seemd too much now. So I was looking for an easier solution (and we did this so many times during those 72 hours) Now I am usually drawing in vector, namely in Inkscape. It is very easy to design and modify anything in it and I love this freedom and flexibility.
So I used Inkscape to create the absolute minimum of walk cycles for these robots. First you draw your robot, than you pose it. You can set the pivot points in Inkscape, so you can set up your own joints. Than you create a duplicate and pose it again. Than again. Bang, you are done!

I still wanted to keep things very simple, so I could not make a very complex walk cycle for each droids. Also, I don't know if you noticed, but each of them has a bit different type of locomotion.
The first ones have human like legs, the 2nd move on short legs with no knees, and the 3rd ones have 3 visible legs on this side and move like caterpillars. I was looking at walk cycles, made sketches, and walked with my fingers on the table a lot to understand how these will work and look natural. (can you say that for small droids?)
After a few trials and error I ended up with this:

In the final game we had to set the animation speed to the movement speed in Unity a good few times, but the movements are fluid enough, and the droids are actually working! And they only consist of 3 frames each! After all I could spare a lot of time by creating very simple frame-by-frame animation. It seems counterintuitive, but if you make only a few frames it works very well!

Ludum Dare 45
Getting ready!
This is my 3rd Ludum Dare, and this time, we are a team! Two friends joined me, a developer and a composer, so now I can focus on art and design totally! It is almost midnight here, but we are getting ready :)
Engine: Unity or Game Maker Studio //Design: Inkscape
We have an idea and some sketches!
Our LD started with some sleep, and not in 3 hours we have a solid idea and a pile of sketches. No I am looking into the visuals and my partner is forging a demo to try the gameplay :)
End of day one! Some progress

We have an idea called TrashWars, where your aim is to push your factory waste to the side of the other player. We made some animations and physics, and I got tired now, so worked a bit on the splash screen for fun :) See you guys tomorrow!
TrashWars - kinda working
This is a prototype, still a lot to do. Music is coming today and a million other things.

Trashwars is finished! Fiiiinally some rest! :D
The last few days was really tough, and we also had to work today and finish the last changes after that. I know all of you guys had it hard as well, so I shut up about it. It was a great challenge and we are very happy with the results!

We wanted a game which was strategic but chaotic. And we did it :D It was great to see how our ideas are coming together visually, game play wise and at the end with the sounds and music! I want to thank all the effort here to my teammates, David (@david-klemencz) and Balint (@kazrath)! You are awesome guys!

So what now? I think as all of you, we will have a good sleep, than get up tomorrow and PLAY all the games in the jam! Please try our game and give us some feedback!

Have fun ad take out the trash!
Hello Sexy! Come and try out Traswars!

While playtesting our game, our friend Daniel started to name our robots! He called the heaviest one "Big Mama", and the little runner simply "Sexy"! So these are the name we stuck with :D
Please give a go to Trashwars , and comment about your gameplay!
