Don’t Panic!
I dare you to beat the Sun.
It isn’t impossible, I can guarantee, but you really need to be an asian level gamer.

Time flies! Seems like last LD was 1 month ago… But as the last time, I’m in!
My choice of platform and coding will depends on the theme, but I think it will be:
Code: ActionScript 3
Library: Flixel
IDE: Flash Develop
GFX: Photoshop CS5
or
Code: Javascript
Library + IDE: Unity3D
GFX: Blender (I suck at modeling)
for either options:
Music: FL Studio (saving me from low overall ratings because of poor gfx since LD23 haha)
SFX: sfxr
You can play my last 2 LD entrees
LD23: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-23/?action=preview&uid=11711 (Fun 36 and Audio 42!)
LD24: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-24/?action=preview&uid=11711 (better than the first IMO, but the max score was Humor 99 :P)
About the theme… I wish Parallel Worlds win. I’ve been upvoting it since LD23 and I think the competition would develop great games. Props for Round 3 Batman subliminar messages.
I hope you will have a great time, because I’ll have for sure!
Hey everyone,
I’m remaking my first LD entry, World Panic, wich you can play here:
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-23/?action=preview&uid=11711
Original:
Remake:
I’m using Unity3D. It’s gonna be finished soon with the same original levels and I’ll add some more. I’ll release for Android and Web (and Windows maybe).
After a little problem with kongregate API I managed to make the score works, but I didn’t notice this problem until minutes ago so everyone who played my game until now didn’t have the score to show. So I’m still hold the first place with a miserable score e_e
I really hope to be beaten in my own game ^^
Also, I’m making the post mortem version with more levels, new gameplay and new score modes
The first level will include an explosive kitten:
You can play/rate the compo version here:

I hope you enjoy it!
Logos from first LD day, second LD day, final compo release and post-mortem release respectively
Haven’t played yet? Give it a try ^-^

Hi everyone,
I would like to share the experience of creating this game but before I’ll point the good and bad points.
The good
» Unity2D: I had a few experience with Unity3D and moments before this Ludum Dare starts I opted to use the new Unity 2D framework, even without ever using it before. In just a few hours I could understood the basic of the new physics and sprite handlers.
» 2D animation: Before this LD I never had used keyframes 2d animation before. I just watched some videos of how it worked on Unity and after messing with the first animations, I finally got it right and could develop some good ones.
» 2D sprites: I always been really bad at drawing but after some online tutorials of character developing I could create a style and use it to create all the sprites
» Polish
: I could develop a full game in details, with proper introduction and conclusion and even some alternative endings.
The bad
» Music: Trying to create the music was where I wasted most of time, because I was used to all the functions of FL Studio but I used a software I wasn’t familiar with(GarageBand), so I spend time looking on how to use it in the middle of competition. After trying hard, I staid only with 2 songs (basically the same, just changing instruments) and I didn’t like the final result.
» Levels I was hoping to create more levels and use it to make a mini game collection but the timing was bad (here in South Korea the competition ends at 11AM on monday and I had test on monday).
» The game factor: I spent so much time doing the graphics that I didn’t even stop to think of how the game was going to be, the interaction, the difficulty and the challenge and, at the end, I had a movie, with none interaction. So I created some ways for the user to interact but that wasn’t enough to make a challenging game that the user can spend time.
In this game I had as inspirations Braid, Wario Ware and some horror movies 😛
You can play the game and leave your opinion here
I added OS X and Android version, but I had problems with Windows version (is playable through Web also)
Just posted my MiniLD48 game! Give it a try
Don’t forget to print the augmented reality marker sheet!
