Welcome to Island Catcher,

get your fingers on the keyboard and type as fast and precice as you can! you need to catch the islands! as little teasers here 3 screenshots. (ah psst: there is online Highscore built in for competition :joy:

For everybody looking for 10 minutes pause:

A Small World, floating in space, surrounded by mysterious islands…

Now its up to your finger-force to collect all islands around your small world.

If you start the game hit the flower(or check the highscores first), at first just type your name, set the lifetime(8/12/18 seconds) and the ammount of islands(2/3/4).

Hit the flower again and the adventure beginns. Type the words as fast as your fingers allow. If one of the islands floats to long its going to void. This will cause half of your island break away(with the corresponding points and 1 of your initial 3 lifes).

If all of your lifes are gone, you lost, and (if no problems in my system occour) your final score is submitted to the global Highscore list.

EDIT: cause sometimes there are no highscores set ill add a 2nd version on itch.io(same link just below) with a logger attatched. if you have this problem may consider use this version to localize the bug(helps me learning). but please just rate the original version WITH BUG. (fair for all).

so far i tested 10 games(yeah europeans morning) but i am shocked. i found 3 games so far(in this 10) clearly made by a team but marked as compo(i did compo so i rate compos). i dont point out anybody cause i dont know if its mistake or not, but shouldnt happen.

pretty sad for me(missed most of my sleep for ld, could been easier if i would do "team compo").

guess one more without 20 ratings. if you still need ratings comment your game(after you rated mine, cause is also have not enough) and have a nice evening guys :wink:

Ludum Dare #38 was a bit messy in terms of submition and so on. but i had fun and my game turned out quite well, so i decidet to put some(a lot) more time into and it turned out in a fashion i am okay with to call it released. some stuff still need improvement but for clear directions i first get some feedback collected. you think why he writes this? well its easy, firstly i wanna thank you to be ludum dare and give me fun 3 times a year to work with a fixed deadline. on the other side i shameless post my game here(and a video) so you could take a look and respond if you have any ideas or suggestions.

Hey folks, just some little story happend at home here. as background i am a grown up at the age of 30(aah i mean forever 29 ;) ). so i do ma uyual theme slaughter or voting till my wife joins me and takes the lead. later in the sunday we talk about our week and i say something like "yeah friday i gona prepare some food for ludum dare" so usually i expect to get killed for telling her i am developing the full weekend. BUT her answer: oh honey its no problem i can make food for you then if youre working..

As usual the moment i see the Theme i say to myself: who the heck voted this. Then on a morning walk usually my idea pops in my mind and takes shape till i am back home to start.

It took me the first 12 hours of ludum dare 41 to get an idea what i want to do. last major changes were done about 6 hours before i submitted. so no easy ride this time. but: I FINISHED!
