Good Luck Everyone!
This will be my first time attending as well. I'm sure my game will be fantastically awful. Stay hydrated.

- This was my first time joining LDJam, and since the compo was going away In wanted to try it out. I originally had another game I started 48 hours ago, and well... I scrapped it 24 hours in...
This was fun and challenging. Especially since I'm fairly new to Unity. Hope you all get some good rest. Cheers.
This was my first time joining the compo. I started Unity roughly a week ago and thought, why not?
This game "Run from Stuff" - was actually my second idea after scrapping a very overzealous dialog based rpg. I started this project on the final day of the compo, and aside from the glaring collision issues am mildly happy with how it turned out.
This got me thinking into the overall scheme of game development and presenting challenge. Every game appeals to a different audience and for the most part, too much stick without a carrot is just called a beating. After playing over 50 different jams and compos from you all, it got me mulling on the careful balance of creating a game and the relationship between developer and player. In addition to that: the ADD nature that's come with gaming as a byproduct of our fast paced tiktok, tweeter, poo poo bam Reddit digital society. Within a minute or two, if you can't understand the game mechanics most players tend to drop out. It's tough to get players engaged in a minute without holding their hand. This reminds me of something @AdamCYounis said - you want to give players a "moment". Something memorable for them to remember the game. Giving them the moment earlier on is better than burying it deeper into the game as that's what hooks players in.
Needless to say, I don't think my game accomplished any sense of balance or moments but it was a fun learning experience.
