First time, I'm In!

Ever since two years back I've been wanting to take part in this jam but always seemed to miss the timing. But finally I got the time right! Probably going to try this on my own first to see what this is like. Can't wait to see everyone else's games!

Might have made a mistake.

After struggling to find a game idea I settled on making a match three shooter. Thought it was pretty incompatible, until I remembered that a game I played long ago was basically that (Can't remember the game name but its pretty similar to another game called Sparkle Unleashed). I guess I'll just continue anyway, maybe what I end up with might be different after all.

Finally Complete!

My first Ludum dare is complete!

Come check out Match Gunner, a game that combines the accuracy of shooters with the brain power of match three games!

Also, post in the comments your games so that I can check them out, especially if you are a solo developer too. This was my first Ludum Dare so I want to see how I matched (hehe) up with everyone else and where I should improve for the next jam (which I will hopefully be free to join again!)

First Ludum Dare Done!

Is this good? Is this bad? I have no idea! But I'll definitely aim to try and do better in the next ludum dare. Thanks to everyone who played my game, and see you guys in 86 days!

2nd Jam in a row!

Can't wait! This is my second ludum dare and I hope to improve the overall look of my game this time round (art is not my strength). Like before, I'll be working alone, and hopefully I don't have to sacrifice too much sleep to finish.

Also quick question before it starts, am I allowed to release my game on different platforms even though its passed the deadline? I'm a bit worried that I won't be able to finish in time, but I really want to release a browser version of my game, and I won't change anything else in the game, just the platform.

All the best guys!

Time to start!

At first, I didn't really like this theme, but after reading other people's posts I started getting inspired and now have a game idea! Not sure if it will be unique, and its the biggest game idea that I have ever attempted to do in a game jam, so I hope I can finish it.

(Its gonna be a metroidvania)

(edit: actually, now that I think about it, it may not count as a metroidvania because of some missing elements, lets just say its inspired by metroidvania games like ori)

Made a mistake

Thought I could finish my game idea in time, thought that the idea made sense. Realized too late that the concepts I threw together didn't work together, and while I feel like there might be a game under all this mess, right now it just seems like a bunch of mismatched mechanics failing to work together. Guess I have no choice but to give up for this game jam. I'm tired and still have work tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone else, you can do it!

Trying Again

I was a bit too ambitious the last time I did this and ended up giving up, so hopefully I can plan better for this one! GLHF

LETS GO

Logo.gif Can't wait! Been practicing 3D modelling too and decided to try making a new logo sequence. I'm still pretty rough, but hopefully its good enough for me to finally submit a 3D game for a game jam :)

LETS GO

Pretty generic theme. Almost every single game is about keeping something alive. But alright, hopefully I can come up with something creative!

Unsure

My first idea for this game jam was to make a game where you have to keep the game's interest alive, so there'll be "player count" showing how good the game is doing, and you get to pick what features the game has, like is it a shooter or a sword fighting game etc. Started a bit on it then realized its probably too complicated to do in 3 days, and not that fun, so back to the drawing board i guess

ULTIMATE KICK BALL

FINALLY DONE! "Keep it alive" made me think of the balloon game I used to play as a kid, where we had to keep the balloon from touching the floor. Hence, Ultimate Kick Ball is born!

Keep the ball alive by ensuring it never touches the ground while also cultivating a massive score multipliers by sending that ball flying all over the place!

THANK YOU!!!

Jump to kick the ball around the arena. The faster the ball, the more points you get! Can you beat my highscore? :grimacing: Untitled.png

P.S. Thanks for those who have already voted and gave me your suggestions! This is the first game jam I participated in where I actually want to update the game (especially to fix the stupid mistake of not looping the BGM ), but right now because of National Service I'm isolated from my main PC that I used to make my submission, and can only return after 3 more weeks. Hopefully I still have the drive to update this game after the 3 weeks, but till then, once again, THANK YOU!!!

P.P.S. Comment any browser games for me to play and rate! Because of the aforementioned isolation, I'm using my mobile data to play and rate games, so I can't download anything

A bit of Postmortem

Untitled.png Honestly, not sure how to feel about my submission for this jam. Its not a lot but among all my other LD entries, this game has the most votes obtained, yet got the worst score, even compared to my first entry. I think its because I went with a relatively safe option that I knew I could easily finish before the deadline. Maybe I should try a more adventurous idea next time? Either way, thanks for rating my game and giving me valuable feedback. I actually updated the game a bit based on the feedback I got, which is a first for me. See you all in the next LD jam!
