I’m trying to write my very first own game, and for comparison, I code in the same room that some past winner… So my small barely playable game with this small thing, running for its life surrounded by two monster. It’s still really really empty for now. Lets draw some more stuff.

Two day ago I submitted my compo under the name “Move Them”, it was my first game ever.

What went wrong:

• I didn’t know how to use most of my tools,
• lake of experiences lost me a lot of time,
• I was too tired Sunday night to correctly use the last three hours.

What went right:

• I did a functional game
• I found a way to port it to windows \o/

Tools used:

• python 2.7 and pygame on Debian,
• Emacs to edit it all,
• wine + py2exe + pygame2exe for porting to windows,
• audiotool.com for music, LabChirp for sound,
• inkscape and gimp for graphics (mostly inkscape).

Next time, I have to use less time for learning my tools, less time for coding, and more for gameplay, sound and graphics.
