Ludum Dare 56

Keep It Up Kitty! Music, Gameplay, My love for Ludum Dare 56

Since I've received positive feedback on the music in Keep It Up Kitty! I figured I'd give a little background on my process.

I did most of the songwriting and production on my OP-1. I exported the individual tracks to Ableton for mixing/mastering, added in a riser and some effects, and put it thru a mastering loop. Very simple but I think good enough for a few hours work. I like the OP-1 because I can get an idea together quickly, it has nice cute sounds that fit the vibe i wanted, and the audio quality fits the lo-fi aesthetic well. 2024-10-08 15em53/em36-kitty cuddles_ [kitty cuddles] - Ableton Live 11 Suite.png Having nice gear and experience playing instruments for >20 years is a big advantage in an event like this, lol.

I've had such a great experience with this October's compo/jam. I felt like I had the best grasp I've ever had on the theme and my vision, and being (recently) unemployed, I had the time to fully devote to executing my best. I've also been really impressed and had fun playing everyone's entries!

As a bonus, please enjoy this gameplay clip of the craziness that begins once you make it a bit further into the game :) Keep It Up Kitty Gameplay (1).gif

FINDER-1 is Live against the odds!!

Man, I didn't anticipate having to do a last minute re-design of my radar scanning system to work without collision frames, but here we are...! Ah, the joys of HTML export LOL.

This is my 3rd Ludum dare entry (I think?) and my favorite so far! Not only is this my most complete entry yet, but it's also the first time I've been able to incorporate a full narrative arc, hint system, complete audio, and a novel mechanic.

I'm really proud of this one and so excited for others to (hopefully) enjoy it!

Was great jamming with y'all.
