So I think I have sttled on a final name for my game: "transaction failed" is a storydriven adventure (not an adventure game though haha) that is set in its entirety in a convenience store! My goal is to have an atmosphere, which constantly switches between a horror-like mood and funny mood :>
I finished my game right on time! I only had 3 minutes left at the end. i am writing this post only now because it became very late yesterday due to the different time zone! i wanted to make a game which incorporates humor and horror at once. But it ended up rather as a silly little game with cute and serious moments. i worked with bitsy, because this is my first game ever! In "transaction failed" you have to escape a convenience store. during this adventure the protagonist "yellow" is confronted with its past, present and future <3

just wanted to say that i really appreaciate this community!! everyone is so helpful and kind :) in my experience that's pretty rare for such a big community like this! the last few days have been a real joy for me. it makes me think that i should have participated in ludum dare much earlier than i have now <3
hi!! this is my second time joining ludum dare and i'll make a cute, small robot adventure in pico-8 =D I can't wait to play all the other games of the jam when it's aaaaall over :3
aaaaahhhh, i way too much dialogue and takes so long to import everything into pico-8 >< (well to be fair, i also wrote a pretty bad function for the dialogue system.. but still!) i hope i have enough time to create some cool sounds and animations still!!
and done! phew =D

i had lots of fun making an adventure game in pico-8! in "apricot kernel" you are controlling a robot, who searches for its lost memories while dreading for more electricity -> which you have to deliver to it! this was the first time i wrote my own functions without help and i even created sounds for the game as well! i'm really glad that i finished in time. i was worried that i made too much dialogue, but everything turned out fine in the end :3
play the game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/53/$356798 (i can't wait to play yours too!)
hii! so i made a cover for my game today! it looks sader than the actual thing, but it does capture some of the emotions the protagonist experiences pretty well, i think!!

you can play Apricot Kernel right here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/53/apricot-kernel :3

if you also made a narrative game or a game about robots, please tell me =D
