Weirded Out

A few hours in and I still haven't nailed down a passable idea to work on. Whatever goes, I guess.

Art and Genre Progress | Platformer - Management

A little progress for my (hopeful) entry. Still no animation and art is at its bare bones but, hey, double jumps for platforming.

Next on my to-do list: Deal with the management part, the HUD and more art.

Art First? Instant Regret

Completed almost 90% of my game's art. It was really ambitious of me to make an entire tileset in a day or so. Overwhelming, but I most certainly learned a few things.

First of them is to focus on the actual gameplay FIRST. Here I have okay-ish pixel art but not an ounce of gameplay yet. I should have worked on the gameplay first THEN art.

Well, it's already here. I have a few hours to incorporate actual gameplay and reinforce the themes for the game jams I'm submitting this to.

A Bit More Polish and Shine

So, I'm practically done with the game now. Everything is working quite fine but a few tweaks here and there can make it more polished.

For starters, I'd like to flesh out the environment a bit more with more tiles. It looks okay right now, but it feels a bit bland. Also, I really need more audiovisual cues about stuff that are happening. Design could use some work too.

For now, I'll probably enjoy some rest. For everyone still working on their games, don't forget to take breaks too. :)

Forgive the repetitive environment shots. The game does take place in just one giant level.

It's Happening!

LD entry page | itch.io

As the banner says, my first Ludum Dare entry, Delve, is now published! I didn't expect to actually accomplish a game I'm quite satisfied with here. This has been a really wonderful experience so far.

With this in mind, I hope you guys enjoy this entry. I will greatly appreciate your feedback. :) For those who are still working on their games, good luck! Hopefully, you won't end up like our guy here.

LD Postmortem + Stuff

Play Delve

A few days after the jam and I finally wrote my postmortem for Delve! It ended up quite long so I posted it on my blog instead. Please check it out here.

I really wanted to upload a proper gif for the game but my recording software makes it look like it's running too slow or too fast. Sometimes, you'll just teleport in the gif. I don't know why. This one's probably the closest to a good one albeit still terrible. * *The gif's speed is not representative of the actual game's **!

For those who have played and rated the game and gave feedback, thank you so much! Do forgive me for not rating any games yet; I'm still feeling a bit terrible from the jam. I will start rating games now.

If you haven't played yet, please do try Delve! Feedback is definitely appreciated. :)
