this guys gunna jump he wears armor to protect himself form the gun
its got like early 2000 alian jet pack vibes, and shoots lazers, programmers haven't programed it to explored on death, not a very good bomb if you ask me.
because our Mc has a crippling nikky addiction, its what makes him strong, very cool
made a cool looking gun to make Mc look more cool and epic, now a weapon to fit the cool helmet look

we are going for that hotline-miam meets Flash games in the 2000 vibe for our new project we hope you enjoy what will be our dumbest and fun-est project yet
so we have been finalizing all the tiles for the last stretch of the game while our coders are hard at work. i've been adding silly references for people to find on the map just for a little fun !
Alot of tiles in, and it was suggested that there be a few animated tiles for the game. never done any animation at all I had a quick look at a tutorial (and thankfully very small tiles, so it's basically pixel art) ive managed to do an animated tile
Who says Ludum Dare doesn't teach you lots of new stuff in a short time eh
at the start, we were so ready to add every idea to make this a Triple-A three-day made indie game! sadly, not all things can be implemented. we have managed to get a lot of what we wanted in the game, with voice acting, art, lots of tiles, sprites, and much more.
we did plan to have a boss at the end, but with 1h and 50 minutes left.... not sure that's going to happen. The joys of overambitions strike once again, so I share with you the concept art of our boss from almost 48 hours ago
It would have been fun to have an end boss after a solid game loop, but alas, the timer has run us out. we hope you play our game, The Garbage Man of New Trash City, coming to a Ludum Dare near you in about an hour or so
since the last game jam I've been spending a lot of time on art, mostly figuring out color so applying that to pixel art has been a grate boon.
last jam i tried to do animation on pixel art for our floor tiles and it was good fun and a nice point to dip my toes into the idea of animation I'm proud of learning so much even if it is a little rough at points :) but what is the Ludem dare if not a place to learn or hone your crafts!

along side gifs i've been on making sprites for the bad guys Asprite is a God send. I thank god for the game grave yard keeper. its got lots of useful images to reference that have helped massively during the creative process.

even managed an animated boss thankfully a few of these bad guys can use the same "wire frame", or re-using color pallets form other bad guys to save on a lot of time. that and only being 64x64px it makes it far more simple to color
I hope to see you to take a look at out little game The Light House Keeper
