Hey there, guys! Can anyone help get this jelly-like fella back home?

I’d like to share my journey of creating the game Little Caveman during this event. Unfortunately, I had very little time to work on it over the weekend and couldn’t participate in the compo, but all the assets and code are made by me.

As soon as the theme was announced, caves immediately came to mind, along with who might inhabit them. It seemed logical to me that a creature living in darkness would be semi-transparent and capable of emitting its own light. Then, I thought that a 3D platformer would be an excellent way to showcase my main character.

On the first day, I developed the concept and modeled this cool guy. That same evening, I created the assets that later became the cave. On the second day, I started refining the cave environment, and that’s when the idea of bubbles filling the cave popped into my head. Monday turned out to be the most productive day—I built all the main locations, the UI, yellow spheres, and geysers.

The game ended up being a bit more challenging than originally planned, but if you make it to the end, you’ll meet HER.
