LD28

Count me in

I’ve finally made my decision, and I will be taking part in LD48 for the very first time.

I have been programming for 3 three years now and I have many unfinished game projects too.

What is going to be hard:

  1. Getting a good idea
  2. Not to overthink
  3. Implementing the idea 😀
  4. Time management, since I haven’t done much projects with dead lines
  5. Finishing the game

What are my goals:

  1. Keep the game simple enough so I can finish it
  2. Learn something new about game creation
  3. Have fun

I will be using:

Java or Javascript (I will try to do this without any fancy 3rd-party libraries)

Eclipse and/or Sublime text 2

Gimp 2 for graphics

bfxr, Audacity and Sunvox for sounds and music

Good luck to everyone participating!!

Awesome, someone else who knows how to use SunVox :) I typically use SchismTracker for the actual music (I have an .it playroutine) but last time I did it (LD26) I used SunVox to generate samples.

I guess I’ll give it a try

Yeah, I guess I’ll try to make something for the Jam. I already have some kind of concept in my head, I’ll just need to get it on paper and then on the screen. I’ll be doing everything in plain java, no libraries or frameworks or engines. For graphics I’ll use Grafx2 and Gimp2, for sounds bfxr and maybe sunvox if I happen to need music

I hope I find enough time and motivation to finish this one, but without any further ado, I wish good luck to everyone else taking part in the Jam and Compo! Have a fun Ludum Dare!!

I might be in?

Yeah maybe this is the time I actually get something working…

Possible language.

  • python + pygame
  • python + libtcod
  • pico8 (lua)

Other tools:

  • pycharm/vim/pico8
  • GIMP
  • bfxr
  • ???

If I take part, my main goals will be:

  • pitch the best idea ever
  • prototype it
  • actually implement it
  • make it fit the theme
  • have fun!

I wish luck to everyone taking part! GL:HF!
