Brute Force Art Defense

I finished my game pretty much on time and without any major problems yesterday. I decided to mix Tower Defense and Paint, to some extent. And card games. The result is primarily a Tower Defense game with a few color splashes, as the dynamic paint processing didn't work out as well as I hoped, but hey, I tried?!

It's written in HTML5 / JavaScript, so should be playable without any hassle directly in your browser. It consists of 1 single level, including 12 waves of enemies, each of which takes 1-2 minutes at most. Even less when you make use of the fast forward function. So even if you beat the game, playing it usually shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.

The first rating I got was 1 star in each category, without explanation. I don't necessarily agree with that, but well, maybe I deserved it for sassily skipping the past 5 Ludum Dares...

Anyway, the weekend was great and very engaging, and many of the other games look very promising. Let the testing begin!

Making Tower Defense Artsy Again

It seems there are a lot of Tower Defense games around this time - I believe I've played at least 5 during the testing phase. And while this might not be the most creative choice, it surely is a good one for all of us who like the genre. Playing a mix between Tower Defense and some random genre is a bit like hearing another band's cover of your favorite song.

While I've played everything from Match-3-TD to a TD Golf game, my personal Tower Defense version desperately tries to be artsy. In the Paintball kind of way, by shooting colored blobs at an evil army of canvases, of course.

The development was really fun and engaging, and I highly appreciate all the great feedback I got. After a two year break it was really great participating again, and I'm looking forward to return in August.
