I´m in.
This is my first LD.
I´m quite a noob and startet programming about 3 years ago so I will code in BlitzBasic.
Code: Blitz Basic
Art: Gimp, Aseprite.
Sound: Sfxr, Audacity.
Lets have fun.

LD 24 was my first LD but I didn´t manage to submit something because I´m still a beginner and I was away half of that weekend. but since then I evolved from super amateur to amateur and I´m looking forward to this LD.
I improved my pixelart skills alot and I seem to code faster and more efficient since LD24.
But I´m sure it will be at least as funny as last time.
I´ll code with BlitzBasic
and I will use Gimp, Aseprite and sfxr.
I´m probably in.
I have to go to work every day on this weekend but I will try to submit atleast something. The themes are mostly very difficult in my opinion and I´m still a beginner who is coding with blitzbasic so this will be challenging for me. I have participated in the last two LDs but didn´t manage to submit something because of time and coding-skill issues 😀 . I will use aseprite* for drawing and gimp for additional editing. sfrx will make sounds for me. I might even be making music, which I never made before. I will see what I can get out of Inudge 😀
You can easily come up with cool ideas when you read the themes but the ideas are mostly way above my abilities and the things I coded so far.
for european participants like me it is a hard start into ludum dare since it starts at 4:00 am for me. In the two last LDs I used to stay up until 4 waiting for the theme and then immediatly went to bed and had to start at the next midday. everybody is doing his workinprogress posts and you didn´t even start. maybe this isn´t even a disadvantage, because you have the whole time until midday to plan your game but it feels like your way behind the others, who have been coding for hours already.
*I´m missing that program in the tools section.
I have poorly drawn a player and an enemy and made some particle effects.my art actually fits in the theme, but it wouldn´t be any better with any other theme 😀 its cool that everyone can save time by drawing minimal art and spend more time on gameplay and stuff.
my idea is mostly complete. lets see if I can finish this. Even if you intend to just do basic stuff, you always get time problems.
In the last 3 LDs I always had to work half of the weekend , but this time I can code almost the whole weekend, but sunday ( because I am going to gamescom).
I also left Blitzbasic and started using java and Slick2d. I always wanted to do this, but it took me very long to get started in java.
Blitzbasic was okay for a beginner but I´d like my games to be playable in the browser, since this is much more comfortable than downloading.
I also managed to learn git (which took me several days) so I´m ready for this LD.
Language: Java
Library: Slick2D/LWJGL
Art: Aseprite & Gimp
Sound: sfxr
good luck every one

I worked for about 10h now and this is what it managed to do:
basic tilemap
collision detection
simple enemy
chronolapse stopped capturing screenshots after 6 hours so I can´t make a timelapse
since several hours of work are missing.
I´m going to gamescom tomorrow ( and wait several hours to play 15 minutes of battlefield 4 😀 ) so I can´t do anything tomorrow. which means I won´t make it into compo but I will use monday to at least submit something to jam

I´m trying to do a web version of my game the first time. Its written in Java and I used Slick2D.
So I downloaded the lwjgl applet loader. first I modified the htmlfile in the example and it didn’t work.
On the loading screen of lwjgl it stops after “initializing loader” and then it says
” An error occurred while loading the applet.
please contact support…
This occurred while ´Determining packages to load`
so I thought “maybe I did something wrong” so I downloaded the loader again and modified nothing and started the basic example and it still says the same.
Maybe someone could help me since it doesn’t seem to be a very specific problem. If I can´t solve this problem, I´wont be able to submit
Programming: Java, Libgdx
Art: Aseprite
Sound: probably sfxr, if there is time I will record effects
I'll be using java and libgdx. aseprite for the art and sfxr for the sounds. maybe if there is time I will record actual sounds

new boxes come into the warehouse. you can scan their code and place them on a free shelf spot.
will now add requests for out going boxes with codes so you have to look for the correct box
base game is done. now adding a few features and later nicer graphics

my girlfriend and I will join the jam! It was a few years since I participated :)
My Girlfriend @Lotzi and I will again enter the Jam. We will reuse the "engine" created for Jam LD53. It was further expanded during Jam LD54 and I started making a bigger game with it recently, adding more features to the "engine". In general I plan to use it in future LDJAMs and improve/expand it continuously. Therefore I will always participate in the Jam category, since I do not make the game from scratch, and I find 48 hours too stressful anyways
I put engine into quotes because the codebase I'm creating does not pretend to be a general purpose engine like godot or unity. It rather is a framework or call it custom, single purpose engine for 2D tile based platform games and every Gamejam features are added if needed and kept and maybe reused in the future.
We hope the theme will be tiny creatures  because we always put cute little critters in the game anyways. the theme sideffects would be cool too.
We also plan to put more effort into sound effects. We didn't have any in LD53 and LD54. LD54 atleast hat a song that I created where I actually recorded myself playing bass and composed a track out of it.
