A wild custom character has appeared!
The character customization is in this game is turning out really good, I've cried from laughter several times now.

Hey all, this is my first solo LD and I'm super exited. Decided to make a deck builder game where the enemies are functions stuck in a loop and you have to stop them before you get a stack overflow. currently working on cards, if anyone has any neat ideas for enemies, cards or effects please share, I'm starved for ideas atm.
https://dump.video/i/8rcxDj.mp4
Status Cards:
Thread.Sleep(x) - makes the enemy miss a turn
Generator Cards:
Ask Stackoverflow - search your deck for a card
Focus - Draw 2 cards
Damage Cards:
Break; - deal 1 damage
Continue; - deal 1 damage for 2 turns
return; - deal 2 damage
GC.Collect(); - deal 1 damage to all enemies
I've finished the main gameplay elements, gonna add more cards and enemies tomorrow, then finish the level select (loop) screen.

For those that missed the previous update, I'm working on a deck builder where you have to fight looping functions before you get a stackoverflow
I was way to tired yesterday to make to obligatory end of day post, so this is my beginning of day 2 post instead. introducing super original dungeon crawler 324.
Congratulations to all that finish, drop a link to you game in the comments and I'll play it!
And if you like moody dungeon crawlers then do I have a game for you!

I'm not really sure what I'm making at this point, but I'll sure have fun finding out!
Look's like i might be turning out to be some physics sandbox thingy

I've done it! the game is now feature complete, I have 4 god powers and 2 enemy types.
now I just have to polish the game and add actual level/progression, pleeently of time left.

protect your minions from the unstable idol!
Needed a break from all the spaghetti code I've written, so decided to take some time and polish up the ui.
I think it's really starting to look good, as far as my usual programmer art is concerned...

It's a god game, a puzzle game, a physics sandbox... and a strategy game... I'm not really sure what it is tbh. But I am really happy with how it turned out!
Give it a whirl!

and if you'd like some feedback on your game (not just ratings) please drop the link!
got something resebling a solar system simulation going... now I just need to make it stable, at least at the start.

I was too tired yesterday to make the obligatory end of day post, this is where I left off. I'm about 80% done with getting an MVP. The solar system is stable, and you can blow stuff up!

Did a pass on the graphics so the game looks quite a bit nicer now. You can also now lose if Earth leaves the goldilock zone. The problem I've run in to is that the game is just not fun! I'm gonna have to come up with something quick if I'm gonna have a chance at saving this game :constructionworker:

I'm running out of steam, but I've started the final step of making the game look, sound and feel nice. wish me luck!

Solar Death it out. time for some sleep, then it's rate and play time!

After a week at a work conference, I get home on Friday for LD51 only to find that I've caught a cold (or the rona, not sure). Given that, I had to reduce the scope massively. So much in fact that this is the first time I haven't been working on the game up to the 11th hour.

After the shortest brainstorm session I've ever had during a LD.
We came up with the concept of an idle game / management sim.
Help the little guys discover the secrets and riches hidden in the Depths
started easy in paint

refined it with a mock-up

and this is the current in-engine result by the end of day 1!

Today we've managed to complete all the core mechanics, so now there will be more or less a full day tomorrow for polish and balancing! (minus half a day, because job-work is also important)
To recap, here is what the game looked like at the end of day 1:

and here we are today

find out what is hidden in the depths :eyes:
