LD36

I’m (hopefully) in!

So I’ve been watching the most recent LDs and thinking that I should do one.  I do have a pretty busy schedule, and I don’t know if I’ll be working on the weekend, but I’m really hoping I’ll be able to do this.  I’ll be using:

Game Engine: Unity

Art: Gimp

3D: Blender (if I can’t avoid it)

Sound: SFXR

1st LD finished! WOOHOO!

So I’ve been watching the past two LDs, and this year I decided to participate for the first time.  When I heard the theme, I knew immediately that I wanted to do something steampunk related, and I came up with Hippie Horde.

Looking back on this, my thought process was  probably something like “Maybe a big steampunk machine.  Hippies wouldn’t like that.  Maybe they should be the enemies.  But how would I have a story that makes sense?  Oh!  I could add a time machine.  What kind of time machine?  Oh!  It could be a Tardis!”

So for my first Ludum Dare I made a game where there is a steampunk generator, a horde of hippies, and a Tardis.  All in the same game.  I don’t know if I should be proud of that or not.

Anyway, a HUGE thanks to everyone who made Ludum Dare possible.  Your work is very appreciated.  And also a thanks to POV for running LD for so long.  Hope you have some opportunities to rest over your “break” (I don’t even know if it’s right to call it a break, considering how hard you’re probably working!)

Great job to everyone who participated.  Now to go play some new games!
