LD34

Im in LD34!

Well LD33 was my first game jam but I feel like I did pretty well with my entry Bunny Inferno so I’m going into into LD34 with anxious anticipation, especially watching and participating in the theme voting.

Since this is my second LD and I didn’t really introduce myself my first time I thought I’d make an opportunity to do so. My name is Stanley/Stan, I’m 25, and I’ve been programming for about 12 years. I found Game Maker 4 when I was 11 and quickly decided game development is what I wanted to do. Soon after that I then jumped head first into c/c++ for quite a while until exploring java, c#, python and here more recently(1-2 years) I’ve been working with html5/js, which has become my favorite environment to work in. But last LD I chose to use Game Maker: Studio on a whim, which I hadn’t even looked at since I was 12, and since then I’ve been taking a break from the web platform and having fun messing around with GM:S and seeing what it can do.

I’ve also dabbled in content creation having some experience in traditional art; 3d modelling, texturing, 2d sprites, writing, music, etc. I enjoy doing a bit of everything. =)
My mainly used applications would be Blender, Paint.NET, MS Paint(shhh), Milky Tracker and/or FL Studio. Sometimes Audacity… depending on how sane I am that day.

As far as the compo I think, depending on the theme, I may work with either Game Maker: Studio or html5/js. But I guess we will have to see!

Good luck everyone and have fun!

So… I created a blog.

I mainly did it for my own selfish needs so I can document my progress through this Ludum Dare and be able to look back on it.

If anyone would like to check it out you can find it here. I will be attempting to write a post every 2 hours once the theme is announced.

Peon is finished!

I’m going to go ahead and call this one “good enough”. I had fun and learned a lot, that’s what matters, right!?

You can play it here.
I also documented my progress briefly on my blog, which you can find here. If you like Post-Mortems then check back in a few days.

“Peon” Post-Mortem

Hey everyone, I finally sat down to write a quick Post-Mortem for my LD34 entry Peon than you can read of my blog.

Good luck to everyone during judging!
