Hey guys! I'm gonna participate in ludum dare 45 and this is my first time in a ludum dare game jam! Tips would gladly be appreciated (like how to upload your game)
Alright so I'm new to Ludum Dare and in my previous post everybody was so supportive! Though, I still have questions like: 1. Am I automatically joined in the Ludum Dare 45 when it starts? 2. Can I make my submittion page during the jam? 3. Can I update the game / submittion page after the jam is over? Answers will be appreciated! 4. Should I post progress of my game like a video?
Thank you to all who answered my previous blog posts! Though, I wanna do the Jam and not the Compo but I don't know how I pick. Please tell me!
So everybody like to do this so I will do it also. This is my first time in the Ludum Dare game jams and the community is so nice! I will be posting progress on twitter on each day (if I don't forget to post)!

Here the programs I will use:
:gear: Unity :wrench: Visual Studio (hopefully it opens fast) :musical_note: Bosca Ceoil :speaker: Bfxr.net :paintbrush: paint.net :cd: itch.io
If I'm able to, I might post a video on my progress. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish my game before the deadline! (I also hope Unity will be able to compile my game to a HTML version quickly)
I saw the theme and it actually quite flexible! If you think about it, almost every game is like this. (you have no cool weapons and then you get them) I already got an idea and can start coding now!
In a few hours, I will go to sleep. So far, I reused my old code for this project (I'm following the jam not compo) and it works well! Right now, I'm making art for the rooms and characters (hopefully I can finish before I sleep). In my opinion, making art for your game at the start is important (because i remember trying to put art into my older game jam submission and it didn't went as expected). Tomorrow I will focused on dialogue and mabye even saving (thou making a save system is quite tidious). In the last day, I will make audio, playtest it for the last time and send it! Here an image of what I got so far. I'm not really an artist and I hate using colours.

So, the progress on my game has been very slow since I got distracted by other things (like YouTube). Since of that, I don't think I can finish my original idea BUT I do have another idea. My original idea was gonna be a story game but I underestimated the time needed to make dialogue for 10+ characters. So, my other idea is to reuse a platformer game I made, add the art assets I made and make new levels. It already has audio and music prepared. Dunno if I can finish this one but it's worth a try!
So, I failed to upload a game. This game jam has teach me not to make a game jam submission that is too ambitious. I had fun. I will try better next time.
