Testing! 1 2 3....
I'd always wanted to participate in the LDjam, and finally this year I'm having a go at it! I'll be working with @r3nrohan to see what we can come up with!
Looking forward to it, everyone!

Hello y'all!
I've been using Krita to practice making sprite animations, but does anyone have recommendations for other free/ opensource software for that?
We (@r3nrohan and me) have been practicing all week, learning to use Unity, brainstorming with the theme list and such. Tomorrow, we're taking a day off from all this game stuff! Need a good, peaceful breather to regroup before the mad dash begins. What are you folks doing tomorrow?
This'll be our first LD jam. 72 hours is gonna be intense, but, we're ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH MY GOD HERE WE ARE!
My alarm woke me up at 3:30 am and I thought I was an hour late but I was actually 15 minutes early. :D
@r3nrohan and I are working on tile based game.

I'm making and animating modular characters for the first time in my life, let's see how this goes! :D
Back to work!
I'm kind of regretting the visual style I ended up choosing for this, but, it's kind of late to change things now. Oh well, gotta roll.
People are coming up with amazing themes! Ours is kinda simple, but, it's still a good opportunity for us to work on our skills.
In retrospect, making modular characters for a game of this size was kind of overkill. Should have stuck to regular pixel art and frame by frame animation.
Oh well.

Ditched a day and half worth of work on the background tiles because I decided the tiles didn't fit the look of the sprites. It was going to be easier to change the tiles rather than change the sprites though there are really only two characters, because of all the animation that already went into them! Made a new set again!!!!!!
@r3nrohan is tweaking and refining the gameplay.
We're almost there!!!!
The most amazing music I have ever made in my life. Thank you end-of-the-jam-stress for this creative energy.
And thank you to pxtone, the only music making software I ever really understood (everything else is too complicated)

Edit: Jk it was trash the game will have no sound.
.... which I do not have the ability to resolve so I'm just watching the skype screenshare and listening to our programmer debug this thing.
I sure as hell learnt a lot participating in this. Here's a mock up of the UI.

Good luck everyone!
