Ludum Dare 58

FINALLY A GAME CONCEPT

I FINALLY HAVE A CONCEPT I CAN BUILD OFF OF! :DDDD
Honestly, the wildest thing about this jam was that I had about 30 or so ideas, but turning them into something that's possibly fun, unique and with good push/pull and risk/reward was a bit more complicated than I'd thought. Anyways, the game is basically this: mindwave-cat.gif

P.S. play mindwave. cool game.

What a weekend

Honestly, I hadn't expected to come back to jamming after spending so long working on larger projects. Especially with how a friend told me how excited they were that I was trying something charming and whimsical for once, considering how tonally serious my other projects have been at my job. This was fun, possibly my best jam attempt, too! Feels like I finally broke my game jam curse of either not finishing or hastily slapping something together in the final hours after like, the first couple I did, ever. Maybe I'll do more in the future? Who knows!

P.S., I'd really appreciate it if you checked out my whimsical chaotic cat simulator, The Skitter Kit!

Chromium browsers seem to be having trouble with WebGL embeds on this site, so there's also an itch.io link for that exact thing. Chase.gifChaos.gif

Post-Jam Update 1

I have updated my game's character movement a bit to feel a lot more responsive now, and added a neat little surprise that "completes" the game imo. It was complete before, but there was a situation that left you with a "ok, now what?"
This update resolves that. :3

The OST for my jam entry is out now on YouTube and Bandcamp under CC-BY-SA 3.0!!

The music for my game, The Skitter Kit, was made by @Izzyience, a very talented and skilled musician! Show her some love over at Bandcamp and on Youtube:

P.S.: if you haven't played it yet, you can check it out here! It's a game where you play as a chaotic cat collecting balls of yarn, while avoiding being collected yourself:
