I鈥檓 in :)

After some struggling with the Theme I think I got a pretty decent idea.聽I already started on the coding and have some dummy graphics as well.

In about three hours I’ll have to do some real life for a few hours but after that I’ll be able to work on the game pretty much until the dead line. So yeah I’m pretty confident I’m getting something done :)

Making some progress

The game mechanics are mostly complete which means I have more or less a whole day that I can spent on polishing (i.e. making) the graphics and do some fine tuning. Unfortunately the game is faaaar too easy so I guess the fine tuning will have priority.

Oh and of course I yet need to make a goat. I’ll guess this will be an easteregg or you know, an eastergoat 馃榾

The final countdown

Remember when I told you the game mechanics were more or less complete? Well technically they are but I guess I should have taken more sleep than I actually did. The thing is full of bugs. Mostly because of “you should never code when you are too tired” but this is all time that I can spent less on the graphics. So I’ll guess it will be mostly dummy graphics when the time is over :(

43 hours later

I just submitted my entry. It was the first Ludum Dare I聽participated but I’m very satisfied with my result. The game lacks some final polishing and balancing but I’m too tired to do any more productive work. The saddest things: I didn’t manage to include sound and also my goat is missing :(

So what did I learn from this? Well most important I need better graphics skills. And I noticed that I lost too much time randomly surfing the web so I guess for the next LD I’ll just shut down my internet connection. And finally I learned that I need better preperation. So for the next LD I’ll try to get the friday and monday off of work to compensate the sleep.

I鈥檓 in

This will be my second participation in a Ludum Dare and basically my goal is to just get a better rating for my game than I did the last time.

Don’t get me wrong. I was pretty satisfied with my last rating but there is always room for improvements :)

So what tools will I use? Visual Studio 2013 for Coding (I’ll use C#), the SharpDX Toolkit as my engine, Paint.NET for the graphics and sfxr for the sounds.

Looking forward to a great weekend and to playing all your games :)
