First Jam
After years of putting it off, this will be my first LD. I'll be using Game maker and developing solo. Best of luck to you all

First LDJAM. No idea if this is a relatively good theme or not but managed to whack out something i can work with. Its 3am so I'm gonna start fresh in the morning. brainstorm done, placeholder assets done, all that needs is that like good gameplay kinda like stuff. To everyone lucky enough to be in the afternoon or evening now, good luck with your devving, can't wait to play all these games.

first progress screenshot, got some cool mechanics in and some even cooler bugs

Since this is my first LD, I'm not entirely sure how to go about things. I've got the idea down, but i've introduced a load of delicious bugs with some new features. I'm kinda just going with it, chunking new features in and seeing if they work.
I'm creating a 'personal bullet hell' game, that is, when you shoot a bullet, it will only disappear when it hits an enemy, otherwise it'll keep ricocheting around the level, getting faster and faster, and they can harm you too.
Programming today, art tomorrow.

Cosy little caves. Didn't have an artstlye in mind when I started this, but right now doing that classique upscaling because i've always quite liked it
I may put a few hours in later, but i'm happy with the progress on my first LD.
tfw you can't think of a name for your game yet
It's the quickest I've gone from nothing to actually something, and there's art in and not just rectangles as usual. You play as a robot in a spaceship sent to a planet to save it from a bug infestation. the game theme comes in with the mechanics; your ship is equipped with these "dark matter ricochet rounds", not only do they kill stuff, but when they bounce off something, they speed up. indefinitely. and they can kill you in one hit, so the more bullets you have, the worse it is essentially.
I was doing the classic 'lets make a bunch of level's but im just going to polish the three I have and iron out the bugs and maybe make an intro cinematic. Really enjoying it so far and Im glad I signed up!

Woke up and put bullet trails in, probably just going to skip the music since i can't do tomorrow for the compo. It's getting a bit tidier now, who knew sleep would help with this sort of thing! Good luck all.
First LD done; published here. Was going to enter the compo but settled with the jam since it's my first. You can play placeHolder here:

Thanks for the votes, I really enjoyed it, and reading the feedback, playing your games and leaving feedback. See you all in LD41
Happy to be taking part, missed the last one. Likely using Game maker Studio 2, Photoshop, and then spending the last few hours of remaining time considering sound and music.

Good luck everybody and have fun~!

Wew, hope this works. Threw away a load of ideas to go with a very basic style and something I've always liked; mechanics that you work out yourself without instruction.
Taking a break from actual gamedev to work on an amiga-crack style intro, or in other words just putting problems off until I can think about solutions!

At LD40, @togis made a stream of a few games who commented and rated his, and I thought it was a nice thing of him to do I'm going to do the same this time. Going to play and rate everyone who comments / rates my entry. If this sounds fair to you, make sure to leave a comment in my LD42 entry comment thread and I'll get back to you in your game comments section with a recording of the stream. I'll also post an update here when the stream is live.
My LD42 entry, REDSQUARE: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/red-square (Windows only, sorry)
The stream will happen around in around 12 hours; 00:30 Tuesday 15th, UK time. I'll work from the top comment down until I get too tired!
Thanks!

Another call for games to stream (staggering these posts to hit timezones)
Tonight, just after the jam deadline passes, I'm going to stream a bunch of LD42 games, specifically everybody who comments/rates mine, I'm just going to work from the top down and give each game 5 minutes or so.
For everyone who comments, I'll post a link to the stream recording in the comments of your game, along with feedback.

Just after the deadline I'll be running a stream on twitch. Everyone who comments/rates on my entry will have their game streamed. I'll play through it for 5 minutes or so, and then afterwards comment/rate your game as well as paste the recording in.

Looking forward to playing your games! Stream will happen in around 6-7 hours.
Hello everyone surviving the server lag. Going to be streaming the first games that commented on mine, here: https://www.twitch.tv/namyodev in about 20 minutes or so. Currently just listening to some post-jam chillout tracks, you're more than welcome to join.
If you'd like your game to be streamed, leave a comment/rate on my LD42 entry: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/red-square
Thanks!
Once again doing another stream in around 15, 30 minutes or so, if you'd like your game to get rated, please leave a comment on my entry. I'm working from the top down in blocks of ten. Just downloading the next block of games and boiling the kettle so enjoy some gamedev chillout music for a while.
Stream here: https://www.twitch.tv/namyodev/

If you leave a comment today, I'll do a stream of yours tomorrow most likely, or possibly later tonight. Just depends how it goes. After the stream is over, I'll rate and comment your games, with a link to the stream recording.
