It's not our first jam but it's still our first LD, and the feedback has been beyond positive, so I'm feeling confident sharing our janitor simulator (with a twist, but I won't spoil eheheh) Some people even said they could smell the potent detergent playing this...

Just woke up, trying to make a root exploration game. Good luck everybody, have fun !

Added small roots and small meshes for water and rocks. Time to eat something !

I am afraid I'll be running out of root based puns before tomorrow. Well, at least the game is coming along nicely. I hope everyone is doing ok, there's still plenty of time !

As many people suggested after playing my game, I'll spend the rating period rating games AND trying to port my game to Android.

I might even add some new features / make it even deeper if I have enough time, as I heard some wonderful ideas coming from y'all.

If you haven't played the game yet, it's right there !

The Android port is coming along nicely, so I'm taking some time to add new features to the game (that I plan to release at the end of the rating period if all goes according to plan)

Just added some fertilizer pockets that boost you when you go through them, should add some spice and strategy !

The post-jam version of ROOTS is coming along nicely.

Just finished the new UIs, and I'll spend the weekend making sure that they actually do something ! Added a "choose your seed" feature to add more content and strategy.

This Ludum Dare has been fantastic, and I want to thank everyone for leaving insightful feedback! I've been testing a lot of Compo games and the overall quality is incredible.

I was about to release the post jam update of my game, and the results came in.

Well, I guess you'll like the new version even more ! I'll keep working on it and try to release it on some store.

The game is now freely available on HTML5, Windows and Android.

I just wanted to share how shocked I am. Earlier today I was browsing the Google Play Store when I saw this :

Yes, some shovelware developers just took my sources, upgraded the graphics, put ads and micro transactions, without even contacting me beforehand.

They didn't even bother changing my awesome mouth-made SFX !

Ok, ROOTS has been stolen by shovelware devs (see this post to learn more about it) But that does not stop me from putting the official game on the store !

The game is completely free and contains zero ad or in app purchase ! The game evolved a bit since the game jam, and has tons of new features and biomes :) I released it on Armor Games earlier this year, it has recently crossed 100k plays, and is currently the highest rated action game on the website.

8 hours in, and I have a pretty convincing test level, at least to my eyes. I had a lot of fun with the music/sfx system, I love the old school REZ vibes.
