Finally time to get started

After getting hyped up about competing in my first Dare for ages, I managed to break my left wrist in the week. But after a morning of Christmas shopping, I’m ready to single hand idly take on the Ludum Dare (no pun intended). After a bit of brain storming, I’ve decided to create a simple, randomized Pokemon/Final Fantasy style fighting game in which you will only get to use each fighter once. I will be using Unity as the engine, writing in C# on MonoDevelop, creating graphics using Pain.Net and Inkscape and attempting to create some music and sound effects with Audacity and either Garage Band or FL Studio.

I’m terrible with graphics…

Well I’ve written a decent amount of code seeming as I’m typing super slow. There’s still more code to write though, and I need to work out how to balance the game so that there’s more skill and less luck involved. I also want to have a go at some graphics stuff, which is definitely my weakest point in this competition. At least I have the worst title I could think of: “SUPER BATTLE FIGHTERS”SBF Logo

I’m In: 10 hour compo!!

Been looking forward to giving this another go, but due to coursework/partying/racing/dating I only have 10 hours to make a game! Going to have to remind myself at 2am that I need to keep it simple! Bring on the challenge!!!

Wat

Well at least I’m not the only one a bit confused by the theme, but I’ll see what I can come up with! Also realized that I’m pretty unprepared and didn’t upgrade to the full version of Unity 4.6 from the beta, so I’ll reinstall in about an hour.Capture

Dat OP Power Nap

Decided to get an hour of sleep in. Stupid alarm didn’t go off, and I overslept by 4 hours… This is the work that I wake up to, as well as a few bars of musicCapture
